Heroine Overview

Hi, everyone! Thank you for coming to Miku Expo. I'm so happy to be with you, back in the USA~!
~ Miku Hatsune in Miku Expo 2014.

Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid who was introduced in August 2007. Miku is a singing humanoid synthesizer, who debuted in Yamaha Corporation's VOCALOID2. She is voiced by the voice actress, Saki Fujita. She is able to sing in Japanese, English and Chinese.

She has appeared in almost every cameo role in a number of recent anime series, as well as guest-starring in some of them like Flower Fairy (also known as Flower Angel), Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion, and the third season of Dropkick on My Devil!.

Furthermore, she got her own game series, co-produced by SEGA and Crypton Future Media, called Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA in 2009. The series went on to have more than 10 games and even its own spin-off series, Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai. She also made an appearance as one of the main Virtual Singers of Project Sekai: Colorful Stage.

Appearance[]

In Miku's default form, she has teal eyes, along with long teal twin tails. Her outfit is a collared grey shirt, with a small teal frill around the hem. She also has a teal colored tie, matching her eyes and hair. Along with that, she also has a short black skirt with a teal part at the bottom all around.

Her hair is kept up by two futuristic ribbon like things made of a special material that floats in place, so they don't have to touch her hair.

Personality[]

Hatsune Miku is usually seen as a carefree and cheerful-hearted girl who is very good at singing. Although, she is heroically popular. She attends a lot of good things with her good friends like KAITO and other heroic Vocaloids, who have been friendly to her.

Other media[]

In addition to all her original songs, Miku has appeared in a cameo role in a number of recent anime productions, including Baka and Test where she is in Class B in Episode 11. Miku appears as a playable character in the anime crossover mobile game Jump Force TCG.

An 11-year-old version of Miku also appears as a major recurring guest character in the Shinkalion anime series. She was introduced to the series as a collaboration with said brand. Her kanji name in the Shinkalion franchise (発音ミク) varies from her basis' (初音ミク), but still pronounced the same. Miku's affiliation to Hokkaido is a reference to where Crypton Future Media headquartered in.

Her age is also a reference to the date of her basis' initial release, August 31, 2007, which was 11 years at the time she's introduced to the franchise (Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito made brief cameos in Episode 15, Miku’s debut episode. Rin and Len also cameo in Episode 52). She pilots Shinkalion H5 Hayabusa. She wasn't strong enough to deal with final villains like Kairen and Black Shinkalion Ogre. Miku also made major recurring guest appearances in the Shinkalion anime film (where her singer outfit design shown in the movie is very much identical to Snow Miku) and has a cameo role in a short flashback sequence in Episode 32 of the Shinkalion Z anime series.

Miku further appears in the third season of Dropkick on My Devil! as a regular minor guest character. She was introduced to the third season of the series as a collaboration with said brand. She appears on a poster flyer in the opening theme. In Episode 1, she has her spring onion stolen by Jashin and is given a 100 yen coin in return, with Miku having no qualms about it. In Episode 2, she pokes Jashin's severed lower half with a spring onion. In Episode 3, she is approched and handcuffed by Mei Tachibana to Pekola's hand and is then led back to Mei's apartment. A Crypton staff manager later appears to pick Miku up. In Episode 4, Miku is shown attending Devildom School. In Episode 5, she delivers a package to Yurine and Jashin's apartment dressed in a cloak. A poster featuring Snow Miku 2021 with Jashin also briefly appears. Later on, a group of Otakus are shown getting excited over a promotional straw featuring Miku in a stylized iron maiden. In Episode 6, Miku visits Lake Akan Ainu Kotan playing with a mukkuri and ordering pudding from Yusa's stand. She later appears at the end watching the fireworks.

In Episode 7, she is shown entertaining the Otakus from Episode 5 at a campsite and later takes part in a group dance. In Episode 8, she plays with some children at the Ayugaeri Falls. In Episode 9, she takes part in the Furano Wine Festival stomping on a barrel of grapes and receives praise from Jashin. Later, at the end of the episode, Miku accidentally runs over the baphomet narrator with her skiis and invites Jashin to sing and ski with her. The collaboration song "Thank You Dropkick!" is featured as the ending theme for the episode. Miku is also featured on a special illustration featuring Jashin and Yurine following the credits. In Episode 10, she reprises her role as a courier when Jashin recalls ordering tools online to make rice cakes. Later on, when Yurine mentions that she's working as a Miko for the New Year, Jashin mishears "Miko" as "Miku" and imagines a shoujo-esque version of Miku. When Jashin leaves the shrine in frustration, she is run over by a truck featuring the "Snow Miku 2021 × Dropkick on My Devil!" collab and is yelled at by Miku, who is driving the truck. In an eyecatcher, Miku runs Jashin off of a podium. In Episode 11, she visits the Petra Exhibition while humming to "Ievan Polkka" and imitating the Loituma Girl meme. Last but not least, in Episode 12, Miku drops by Jashin's pool party watching her grill corn and later struggles trying to open a bottle of ramune. When the sun begins hurdling towards Earth, Miku starts a cheer call for Jashin to stop it.
