~ Yuki's famous quote.

Yuki Takeya (丈槍 由紀, Takeya Yuki?) is the main protagonist of the 2012 manga series School-Live and the 2015 anime adaptation of the same name.

One of the former members of the School Life Club, as well as a former student of Megurigaoka Private High School, she was often regarded as the club's optimist, often coming up with club events on a regular basis and bringing comfort to the entire club despite the somewhat bleak surroundings around them.

Along with others, she is one of the survivors of the infamous Omega virus outbreak in Megurigaoka, perpetrated by the pharmaceutical giant known as Randall Corporation, where she would be later a part of a full-scale war between the survivors and the soldiers of the corporation.

Her hard-earned efforts of convincing Randall to stop the nuclear bombing of Megurigaoka, after revealing that the water sources in her former high school found out to be the cure for the outbreak, later played a significant role in stopping the Omega virus.

Three years after the Omega virus outbreak was permanently halted, Yuki is now a school teacher outside the ruins of Megurigaoka Private High School.

Yuki is voiced by Inori Minase in Japanese, who voiced Sophia Ascart from My Next Life as a Villainess. She is voiced by Brittney Karbowski in English, who voiced Clair Aoki from Gleipnir and Mousse from One Piece.

Appearance[]

Teenager[]

Yuki is a young woman with pink (with a hint of red) eyes and straight, short bubblegum pink hair that comes down to her lower chin.

She normally wears a black cat-cap and wears a bracelet on her left wrist. She also wears black hair clips and accessorises her hair with black hair clips. She has a tiny frame and is pretty short. Her skin is pale and prone to flushing.

Yuki frequently wears her school uniform, which differs from Yuuri's, Kurumi's, and Miki's. The only noticeable change is in the colours.

It comprises of a blue skirt and a white short-sleeved shirt with a blue purple-ish necktie and a red ribbon hanging from it. Yuki also wears white shoes with green tips and mid-length pink and white frilled socks. She generally carries a bag with her everywhere she goes.

Adult[]

Yuki's hair has grown to knee length, which she wears in a ponytail, and she now only uses one hair clip rather than multiple. She wears a similar outfit as her former teacher and idol Megumi Sakura (known as Megu-nee).

Personality[]

Yuki is a lively young girl who may be extremely enthusiastic and upbeat at times, as she strives to see the best in people and things. She gives it her all because the term "loss" doesn't exist in her vocabulary. She is bright and upbeat, and she always wears a smile on her face.

Yuki is also immature, ignorant, and conceited, relying on others to aid her, much to the chagrin of others, even Miki at first. She has developed a carefree and innocent personality as a result of this attitude, and she can often easily accept other people's flaws, and Kurumi has stated that she almost never worries, as Yuki herself has stated that it would be fine if they had manga even if their food ran out, but in a comically sense.

Despite her naivety, Yuki has a highly empathetic disposition and is a very compassionate person who would go out of her way to assist people, frequently listening to their troubles and comforting them. Others (especially Kurumi) might feel protected just by being in her presence. She never doubts her friends, trusting in them and never abandoning them, and she genuinely cares for them. Yuki also does a lot of ridiculous things, which Kurumi refers to as Yuki's so-called "adult-like" act, but Yuki disputes it.

Although she has a childlike nature, the other girls don't mind because her efforts have rescued them on several occasions because she was the one who brought them warmth and joy when everything was so terrible. She is also incredibly sweet and hilarious, and she has the ability to lift everyone's spirits.

Yuki adores being called senpai since she is Miki's senior, and she takes great satisfaction in the fact that Ruu Wakasa, who is younger than her, got several "evil" (according to the others) tendencies from her. Yuki used to sleep in her courses, to to the chagrin of her teachers. Despite their differences in personality, her peers held her in high regard and considered her a close friend.

In actuality, Yuki was the first to notice the Omega virus outbreak when it happened. She was afraid, which led her to develop her own delusions of grandeur, believing that her friends were still alive and well, and that the epidemic had never happened. Yuki devised the illusions to lighten the mood, especially since Yuuri and Kurumi were fatigued and occasionally fought late at night previously, and when Yuki questioned them about it, they always replied with "nothing."

Yuki seemed more cheery after generating the illusions; the others observed this but did nothing about it because they merely wanted her to be happy. Megumi Sakura, her instructor, believed that her time had "stopped" because of her.

Yuki appears to be slowly waking up to the reality of her circumstances, yet she continues to pretend ignorant. In a circumstance when she is assaulted by zombies, however, her "delusions" will crumble and she will fear. Yuki, despite her nearly constant upbeat demeanour, has her own flaws and has been observed sobbing in stressful situations.

She stated that there are many individuals who are better than her, people who worked really hard, and she believes that this is why she was the only one who survived. But she believes she can be here because of her fellow School Life Club members.

Later on, she musters the bravery to try new activities, such as fighting zombies in the school to aid her pals, despite her lack of expertise. However, because she is always reliant on others, she wishes to assist others as much as possible. Yuki appears to have abandoned her delusions after leaving school, although she still has delusions about Megumi on occasion, but only when she is hesitant about a scenario. Her bright and happy nature hasn't changed, but she's become a little more mature and responsible.

Abilities[]

Yuki, who was still delusional, had no genuine experience battling zombies, which she mistook for either "ghosts" or "delinquents." However, after gradually becoming aware of her surroundings, she is eager to battle them for the sake of her friends, despite the fact that she was never really seen battling them.

Others noted Yuki had grown more trustworthy after they left school, and Kurumi added that Yuki had always been an excellent helper, which the others agreed with. Yuki's friends and Megumi regard her cheerfulness as a positive trait, despite the fact that she has no genuine talents in defeating zombies.

Trivia[]

  • Throughout the series, before the three-year timeskip in the manga, Yuki is the only character in the series that wears her school's uniform in a distinctive way. When put in a side-by-side comparison between her uniform and her club mates' uniforms, it is often considered a symbolism to Yuki's rather inverted personality.
