this wiki is growing well and we all know most are trying to contribute well, however the wiki still needs to establish core rules and here is where things may change : some will not like these changes but in every community rules must exist or madness ensues.. some will ask "what's wrong with the old way?".

well, here is what is wrong.. too many categories and too much focus on traits that are neither heroic nor necessary.

prime examples are any categories based on appearance gender etc.. it has no relevence to a hero what they may look like, what activities they may do or what sexuality / religion they take.. categories like this are not to be added and to be removed when seen (same goes for color-base categories "blue heroes", "green heroes" or "heroes with blue eyes").

second example are categories dealing with things that are by no means heroic, even heroes have flaws but listing these flaws here is not necessary.. this wiki is about heroism and the qualities of being a good person (values may differ on this).. no hero is perfect and we can explain why in articles but stuff like "Heroic Sociopath" "Heroic Xenophobe" and "Heroic Murderer" is not acceptable.. anti-heroes may do these things and it may play into their stories but we're Heroes Wiki, we focus on the good qualities of characters, not their evil side.. if a character is known mainly for killing, abusing or being "darker and edgier" they are likely more in line with a Villain than a Hero, even if you may think otherwise.

so, long story short:

do not add categories based on appearance and do not add categories that glorify or make light of criminal behavior / flaws (which heroes are meant to oppose, even in the darkest settings).
