~ The first quote from Stitch when he was still a malefic and destructive being.
Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
~ The famous quote of Stitch from Lilo & Stitch.
I'm fluffy!
~ Stitch.
Experiment 626 (better known as Stitch) is the titular main protagonist of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. He was created by Jumba Jookiba. Originally created to cause chaos across the galaxy, he is marked by his short temper and mischievous behavior, traits that endear him to his friend Lilo, who adopted him as her "puppy".

He is voiced by his creator and the film's co-director, Chris Sanders also voices his evil twin brother, Leroy from Leroy & Stitch.

Personality

Throughout the course of the entire Lilo & Stitch franchise, Stitch is depicted as a character that is unlikable to many people except Lilo (on rare occasions, even she falls out with him, most notably in Lilo & Stitch 2, where she cries out at him that he is "bad and always will be bad!"), due to his destructive and temperamental behavior. It is interesting to note that people who are averse to Stitch (such as Mertle Edmonds and Dr. Hamsterviel) describe him as "ugly and deformed", while those who do love him (like Lilo, Nani and Jumba) describe him as "cute and fluffy". This reflects the basic idea behind Stitch and also his cousins: they do not correspond to many established criteria of good physical appearance, having an extra pair of arms, misshapen heads or other odd features.

When Stitch is in his "evil" form (which is his true alien form), he is undeniably worrying as his somewhat botched physique underlines his at the time twisted behavior; in his "good" form however (the "koala" form that is trademarked and the form that the audience most often sees), Stitch's display of emotion at being rejected for his misbehavior and looks while trying to act good for Lilo are meant to make him seem more adorable to the audience. Despite his surface destructiveness, which does not go away completely even after he has become "good", Stitch is a complex character: according to his creator Jumba, Stitch as a destructive machine was not given a greater purpose in life. Since Stitch is trapped on an island in Hawaii, where there are relatively few things to destroy, he has many occasions to reflect on other occupations than evil. It is implied that Stitch destroys only because that is what he is programmed to do; but since he has a personality of his own (a fact that only Lilo and Jumba truly understand), he also has the choice, and even the will, not to do so.

Despite having superhuman strength and a high level of computer-intelligence, Stitch is emotionally fragile beneath his monsteresque exterior. Lilo believes that one reason why he originally pursued his destructiveness was for reasons similar to her own naughtiness, that it was because he was emotionally scarred (for having been made as a monster by Jumba) but received little or no understanding or sympathy from others. Stitch becomes much more well-meaning after his betterment, but is frequently unable to control all of his impulses to anti-social actions. Fortunately for him, Lilo (and later Reuben and Angel) is always there to support him and he returns her support willingly.

There is a common misconception from viewers that Lilo is dependent on Stitch for protection and support; if anything, it is Stitch who is more dependent on Lilo. Despite her having her own troubles to contend with, Lilo makes every effort to help Stitch in life and, as the story progresses, he becomes more self-conscious and capable of making the right decisions thanks to his friend. At the end of the series, Stitch has friends, family, loved ones and a purpose worth believing in. Before Stitch was rehabilitated, he was a vicious and extremely aggressive and mischievous creature.

After Stitch was rehabilitated, though his mischievous and destructive tendencies remained, he possessed a heart of gold.

He also seems to like turtles, being that there is a picture of Stitch shading two sea turtles in the credits of the original Lilo & Stitch movie and snuggling a turtle after a nightmare in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch. As well as having a soft spot for turtles, he also seems to like frogs. He gently move frogs out of harm's way constantly and seems to talk to them as if they are his friends. These likes may be a sign that Stitch may be growing fond of Earth creatures.

Starting off bad as he was programmed by Jumba Jookiba, Stitch was originally designed to create pandemonium and chaos wherever he was. He was also designed to steal people's left shoe, but Lilo changed his ways a while after adopting him at an animal shelter.

Stitch is still prone to having temper tantrums when things don't go his way or he sees that he's been squirted by the water bottle for something that he thought was good. So he's not all good all of the time. He also gets easily angered by inanimate objects, especially the toaster. The toaster has popped toast in his face once, and since then, he has beaten up the toaster and juiced it at least twice.

The last thing about Stitch's personality is that he's got a huge appetite and gets very angry if he doesn't get what he wants to eat. Also, despite his temper tantrums, Stitch can sometimes have a little common sense and be more mature than Lilo. Such an example is when Lilo wanted to use Sprout to win an orchid competition, Stitch wasn't so sure it was wise, and he straight out told Lilo that it was her fault that Sprout had gone out of control.

Appearance

Stitch is a blue, koala-like experiment with light blue patches around his eyes, and a light blue patch running from under his chin down to his stomach, two dark blue markings; one on the back of his head, and the other on his back, large rabbit-like ears with pink insides and dark blue tips on the back, a wide mouth with a pink inside, white teeth, a navy round nose, navy claws and toes, large black, tear-shaped, pupil-less eyes, a small, short, stumpy tail, stubby legs, two nose wrinkles, one chin wrinkle, three tuffs of sharp hair on top of his head and on his chest, as well as two extra, retractable arms, sharp navy retractable claws on his front and back paws, three thick, long, sharp, venomous retractable porcupine-like spines tipped with white and a very dark navy that run down his back and two long dark blue-tipped retractable bug-like antennae on his head, but his antennae and spines are a few centimeters longer than that of Reuben's and some of Jumba's other 600 series creations. He stands 3 feet 6 inches (106 centimeters) tall and weighs 120 lbs. (54.4 kg), but is taller than Reuben.

In his "dog form", he wears a red flea collar with a gold name tag.

In his alien form, he wears a red spacesuit with an upside-down triangle consisting of a red border and yellow center on his chest and each of his sleeves and patches consisting of a dark red border and orange center on each of his legs, black belt with a dark red square buckle, both black collar, cuffs, and anklets.

Appearances

Lilo & Stitch

As revealed in the movie, Stitch was created by "evil genius" Dr. Jumba Jookiba, who called him "Experiment 626". Both Jumba and Stitch were captured and put on trial by the United Galactic federation.

626 is then sentenced by the Grand Councilwoman to life imprisonment on a desert asteroid and Captain Gantu (who despises him) escorts him. Stitch escapes and crash-lands in Kaua'i, Hawaii. Disguising himself as a dog to hide from his captors, 626 was adopted by a little girl named Lilo, who names him "Stitch."

Stitch is trained by Lilo to be good, using Elvis Presley as a model for his behavior. Lilo's efforts prove to be fruitless at first, as Stitch is unable to suppress his destructive programming. Nevertheless, Lilo enjoys her new "puppy". Although at first he only wanted to use the girl as a human shield from Jumba and Agent Pleakley, whose mission is to capture the fugitive experiment, Stitch slowly develops feelings for Lilo, to the point where he saves her from Gantu. After his heroics, the Grand Councilwoman allows Stitch to serve his exile on Earth with Lilo as his warder, citing her dog adoption certificate (subsequently, Lilo seems to have become not only a best friend but also a sister figure to Stitch).

Stitch: Experiment 626

In the prequel video game, 626 was picked by Jumba to collect enough DNA samples and create more Experiments for his plans. This had caught the attention of one of Jumba's rivals, Dr. Habbitrale and Jumba's inferior Experiment 621.

Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch

In Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (set shortly after the first movie), Stitch is living well and is reasonably well-behaved (although still hot-tempered and mischievous) with the exiled Jumba and Pleakley in Lilo's (and her older sister Nani's) house, until he begins malfunctioning. Since he was not fully charged after his creation, Stitch experiences periodic glitches that have him reverting back to his original destructive programming, appearing to suffer from a "fit" or "seizure." Seeing this, Jumba strives to create a proper charging chamber for Stitch. Not wanting to hurt anyone and not knowing about Jumba's plan, Stitch attempts to leave Earth for a remote planet, while Lilo, Jumba, and the others desperately try to have him return so they can recharge him. Although they are too late when they place him in the recharging pod, Stitch seems to be revived by Lilo's love, in accordance with her belief that love is more powerful than death.

Stitch! The Movie

In Stitch! The Movie, 626 discovers the remaining 625 genetic experiments locked in a crate, in the form of dehydrated pods. In order to rescue a kidnapped Jumba a trade between Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel and Jumba for the experiments is organized, but it instead results in the freedom of the experiments and the capture of Lilo and Stitch. Hämsterviel then tries to clone Stitch but he was rescued by Experiment 221 ("Sparky"). Stitch then rescued Lilo and landed Hämsterviel's spacecraft back in Kaua'i, where the Grand Councilwoman waited to arrest the evil rodent. She then puts Stitch and Lilo in charge of capturing and taming the other illegal genetic experiments scattered on the island.

Lilo & Stitch: The Series

In Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Stitch and Lilo have to capture Jumba's experiments, turn them from bad to good, and find them each a home before Gantu, 625 and Hämsterviel capture them and use them for evil. Along the way, Stitch meets his match Experiment 627 (who is tougher than him), and he eventually defeats him.

He is also affected by 14 experiment powers: Amnesio wipes out his memory, Babyfier turns him into a baby; Spike makes him goofy; Bugby turns him into an insect; Spooky turns into water and nearly drowns him; Lax makes him lazy; Dupe duplicates him into four, weakening his strength; Frenchfry serves him non-nutritious meals (along with Lilo and Pleakley) and fattens him up into a giant bowling ball; Swapper switches Stitch and Lilo's minds; Yaarp blasts his loud megaphone, deafening Stitch; Snooty sucks out his Snootonium, putting him out of commission; Swirly hypnotizes him; Drowsy (in the episode "PJ") puts him to sleep; and Houdini makes him invisible. He also meets Experiment 624 (Angel), who is introduced as a love interest for Stitch.

Over the course of the series, he and Lilo have also had adventures with Kim Possible, Penny Proud, Jake Long, and the kids from Recess.

Leroy & Stitch

After they have successfully captured all the remaining experiments in Leroy & Stitch, The Grand Councilwoman offered Stitch the chance to become the captain of the Galactic Armada and its new flagship, The BRB (Big Red Battleship) 9000. However, that would require Stitch to be separated from Lilo. Not wanting to make Lilo sad, he chooses to return to Kaua'i but Lilo tells him he should go. Before he leaves with Jumba and Pleakley, Lilo gives him a necklace with a tiki of the god Ku Tiki to give him strength. When Gantu breaks out Dr. Hämsterviel in an action of frustration, Stitch is sent on his first mission to capture the evil rodent once more. But when he arrives at Galactic Defense Industries, Stitch faces off against a new experiment—Leroy, who is an enhanced evil twin brother of Stitch. Stitch fights well and is about to beat Leroy when Pleakley shows up unexpectedly, allowing Leroy to take advantage of Stitch's lapse in concentration and beat him. He is knocked into a capsule and sent with Jumba and Pleakley heading towards a black hole. After they are sent towards the black hole, Leroy heads off towards Earth to capture all of the other experiments for Hämsterviel. Later, Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley escape from the black hole, and arrive on the planet Turo. There they rescue Lilo, 625 (now known as Reuben), and Gantu, and then fly Pleakley's carpool van back to Earth to assist the other 624 experiments in the defeat of an army of Leroys. Now, with Leroy defeated, Stitch, Jumba and Pleakley return to Earth with Lilo, realizing family is more important than spaceships, laboratories, and prestige.

Stitch! anime

In the anime spin-off series Stitch!, this version of Stitch seems to have reverted to his destructive nature, and is first seen in the first episode being chased in a spaceship by Jumba and the authorities. The original version (aired in Japan), leaves a plot hole to why Stitch is not with Lilo anymore. For unknown reasons, they wanted to leave this open to the viewers' imagination. Some also claim this story takes place in an alternate universe where Stitch never met Lilo in the first place, which would explain why Stitch returned to his destructive nature. However, in the heavily edited English adaption of the anime, it is implied that Stitch is doing this because of emotional trauma, as Jumba tells him, "Just because little girl Lilo, has new boyfriend now and is all washed up with 626 (Stitch) is no reason to act bad," suggesting that the now Lilo has deserted him for a new boyfriend. Despite this, when confronted by Yuna (a Japanese little girl who is the series' equivalent to Lilo) about his family not caring for him, he states, "Lilo cares," which implies he still thinks she cares about him.

(Note: Lilo does not appear in any way in the anime, and isn't mentioned at all in the original version. Probably, the Japanese decided to change the entire plot with Lilo being excluded.)

Stitch & Ai

In this Chinese spin-off series, set chronologically after the events of Leroy & Stitch but before the events of the anime, Stitch was kidnapped by space pirates who had failed in their own attempts at re-creating Jumba's Experiment 626 research. When the space pirates' ship is raided by a rival gang, Stitch uses the confusion to escape and falls back to Earth. After surviving re-entry, he ends up landing in the Huangshan Mountains in China and befriends a young girl named Ai. Even Jumba and Pleakley join in the fun! But when the sinister space pirates return, and ancient runes uncover a dark truth about Stitch, their new ʻohana must join together to save China!

Powers & Abilities

Experiment Physiology: While explaining his creation to the Galactic Council early on in Lilo & Stitch, Dr. Jumba gives the following rundown of Stitch's powers: "He is bulletproof, fireproof, and can think faster than [a] super computer. He can see in the dark and can move objects 3,000 times his size. His only instinct - to destroy everything he touches!" His primary function was creating war and terror, clogging sewer pipes, reversing stop signs, and stealing everyone's left shoe.

  • Dense Body Tissue: Although we rarely see Stitch shot at with a bullet, he does survive the crash of his spaceship with only a scratch, is only briefly stunned by a fall of several thousand feet and has to be run over by three tractor-trailers in succession to be knocked out.
    • Fireproof Skin: As for fireproof, he does drive a tanker truck of gasoline into a volcano and ends up only a little singed.
    • Bulletproof Skin: Weapons fired from plasma guns seem to cause him discomfort, although he can hold it in his hands long enough to throw the plasma back at his enemies.
    • Shockproof: He also has some resistance to electricity, he was able to take a electrical attack from Sparky and he quickly recovered from it. However, he can still feel pain from shocking despite his immunity to electricity.
  • Enhanced Intellect: Stitch is highly intelligent as he had learned English and some Hawaiian sayings from Lilo, though he prefers using his alien talk called Tantalog. Stitch uses 90% of his brain for high mental functions, unlike the rest of Jumba's 600 series creation, as opposed to the few percent used by humans. He is able to understand thousands of alien languages and sub-dialects, including some of the most obscure in the Galaxy. 626 is easily able to operate auto mobiles as well as program computers with amazing rapidity that comes easily to him and de-bug Windows Operating System software.
    • Hypercognition: Thinking faster than a super computer is harder to quantify, but he does escape from captivity fairly ingeniously, builds a model of San Francisco after only glancing at a postcard; grabs a crossword puzzle from the table and finishes it in about 7 seconds; builds a bomb out of a plasma-bolt, a doll and a roller skate; builds a "bucking bronco" out of a toaster, a vacuum cleaner, and a lamp; reads aloud a description of a display at a local museum at a remarkable speed; is able to understand he can use a human as a shield from Jumba, by Pleakley's presence; and generally picks up quickly on what is happening around him.
      • Lingual Intuition: Stitch can converse fluently in over 20 different languages, but prefers Tantalog.
      • Cooking Intuition: He can cook 372 recipes, but prefers Chinese food.
      • Parallel Computing: He is an information repository, with a dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, and experiment catalogue, and records every moment of his life, in a reserved portion of his brain that can theoretically store up to 300 PB.
      • Guitar Player: He is also fluent in playing the guitar.
      • Vehicle Intuition: Also driving any sort of vehicle, which can be as simple as riding a tricycle or as complex as piloting inter-galactic spaceships.
  • Enhanced Strength: Stitch can lift objects 3,000 times his own size and weight is seen several times throughout the franchise, including incidents where he picks up a descending blast door, hits Dr. Jumba with a thrown Volkswagen Beetle (shouting gleefully, "blue punch buggy! No punch back!") and stops an 18-wheeled tanker of gasoline dead in its tracks. The reason why Stitch can lift 3000 times his own weight even though he has small arms is because his muscles contain excessive compressed amounts of myofibril in one muscle cell. This muscular arrangement makes Stitch's muscles contract 1000 times faster than a human's muscle can. The ability is sometimes joked about in the later series; for example, in Stitch! The Movie, Hämsterviel, while physically restraining Stitch for a cloning experiment, counters Stitch's strength with restraint devices, that are equal in strength themselves, as Hämsterviel loudly declares, to "three-thousand and one!" times Stitch's own weight.
  • Enhanced Speed: Stitch was shown to super speed past Lilo and Pleakley while carrying Jumba during a bet they made to catch experiments 501 Yin and 502 Yang. His speed is also usually used when he's in his spherical form.
  • Enhanced Agility: Stitch is also shown to be very agile.
  • Wall Crawling: The pads on Stitch's hands and feet can secrete a sticky substance allowing him to adhere to almost any surface and scale buildings and walls.
  • Spherical Form: His skeletal system is very flexible, allowing him to put his feet into his mouth and become a rolling ball and also to allow him to squeeze through tight spaces.
  • Enhanced Jump: Stitch's legs are small, but powerful enough to enable him to jump several feet into the air.
  • Enhanced Vision: Stitch has extremely large, forward looking eyes with red, reflective, photosensitive retinas to allow efficient and safe locomotion in trees and equipped with acute binocular and excellent night vision capabilities. He also has an extra eyelid that covers the eyes so it protects them from light.
    • Electromagnetic Vision: His eyes can pick up various forms of light and he can filter out one or the other if necessary. Stitch can see in normal vision, during this mode, his eyes appear black in color. Furthermore, he can also magnify his vision.
      • Night Vision: Eyes appear green.
      • Infrared Vision: Eyes appear red.
      • X-Ray Vision: Eyes appear bright green.
  • Enhanced Hearing: Stitch has extremely large, motor controlled ears, which are large compared to his body size, but account for acute, fine hearing and use of sonar. Like terrestrial bats, 626 uses sonar, which accounts for the size shape, and fine motor control of his ears and there are two 'chips' in each ear. One in the top of his right ear, and the other towards the bottom of his left ear. 626 can detect the sound of a blood-sucking leach at a hundred yards, and can move by emotion and capable hearing extremely well.
    • Audio Amplifier: He also can act as an audio amplifier, radio and/or microphone, illustrated when he uses a claw as the needle on a record player, and the music comes out of his open mouth.
  • Enhanced Smell: Stitch has acute senses of smell. His large nose is able to pick up any scent for a very far being distance away, smell up to 10 miles away. He is highly sensitive, has tiny pore in the nose for which he can breath through.
  • Skilled Hand-to-Hand Combat: He 'salso dexterously skilled in hand-to-hand combat, using all four arms or just two.
  • Alien Form: In his alien form, he has spines on his back, two antennas on his head, and can grow two extra pair of arms.
  • Koala Form: Stitch can hide his spines, antennas and extra pair of two arms in his body, taking the form of an ordinary earth koala.
  • Eternal Youth: Stitch can't age and has show no signs of growing old.
  • Vacuum Adaptation: Along with the rest of his cousins, Stitch can survive in the vacuum of space due to being a genetic alien.

Weaknesses

  • Water: Stitch's greatest weakness is his inability to float or swim due to his dense molecular structure, which causes him to sink like a stone in water. Stitch originally had an instinctive aquaphobia, but was able to overcome it because of Lilo's influence over him.
  • Memory Erase: It is also shown that if Stitch consumes two different elements that form to create a particular chemical compound, all of his physical training will be wiped. It will result from eating a left shoe and macadamia nuts.
  • Snootonium Drain: As Stitch is also 62% Snootonium, if this Snootonium is drained from his body, he will become temporarily exhausted from dehydration.
  • Sonic Blasts: Another weakness is the fact that his super-sensitive hearing can lead to temporary deafness when exposed to sonic blasts, such as Yaarp's destructive sound blast.
  • Sauerkraut: Stitch is allergic to sauerkraut.

Relationships

Family/ʻOhana

Stitch always and never had a family, as stated by Jumba who stated he's build to destroy. This changed since meeting Lilo when he escaped from prison and crashed onto Hawaii, he first behaved destructive but ever since learning about her family's history, he started to reform, this also leads to question his purpose, when he build a model city and destroyed it, Stitch realized he has nothing if he cannot wreak havoc. Upon reading the story of the Ugly Duckling, Stitch found himself in the same position, being "lost" and "sad" hoping to find a family like the Ugly Duckling. Stitch found his one true place of being a part of Lilo's family, with approval of the Grand Council since he's owned by Lilo in the Hawaiian state, taking the motto of ʻohana after saving Lilo from Gantu, while the family is under the protection of the Galactic Armada.

Stitch shows dedication to the Pelekai family, having to learn the ways of Hawaii and their tradition as well as the meaning of ʻohana, taking the concept well meaning as Stitch would take this extension to, not only Jumba, Pleakly, and David, but also the other experiments Jumba created before him.

Lilo Pelekai

Ever since he crashed onto Earth in Hawaii, Stitch used Lilo to hide from Jumba and Pleakley by disguising himself as a dog for Lilo to adopt. Nani and the owner of the animal shelter disapprove of it but Lilo took an instant liking to him. When deciding a name, Lilo named him "Stitch". They didn't get off to a good start, mainly thanks to Stitch's destructive behavior, however, it wasn't enough for Lilo to get rid of him, as she wanted to make him feel good; she defended him when Nani decided to get rid of him herself until she reminds her of ʻohana and that it means family and no one gets left behind or forgotten. This made Stitch curious, even more when he realized about his destructive programming, questioning his purpose in life. Stitch's destructive behavior also made it hard for her and sister's lives, as he accidentally got Nani fired at her job which brought up with Cobra, who wanted Stitch to be a model citizen. This proves futile, as Lilo's idolization of Elvis and teaching his life to him made Nani finding a job difficult as it brought nothing but trouble and disaster. Stitch started to feel remorse for their losses; later at night, he ran away that Lilo agreed (though depressed and reluctant) that he's gone, however, Stitch had developed a strong bong with her but with a fight with Jumba it ended with their house blowing up and being nearly taking away by Cobra. Lilo's view on Stitch changed, as he handed him the burned photo of her sister and parents, Lilo blames him for everything. Upon showing his true form, Lilo demanded Stitch to be taken away. Regardless, Stitch didn't want to abandon Lilo, taking the meaning of ʻohana, Lilo even smiled at Stitch's return to save him and even grew concerned of his well-being. Upon being saved, but with the Galactic Federation arriving to arrest him, Lilo wanted them to leave him alone, however, after hearing Stitch's story about finding a family, the Grand Councilwoman couldn't change as their laws are absolute, however, upon Lilo showing the adoption papers, they decided to let him stay and have his family under the protection of the Galactic Federation as the two embraced in a hug.

Even knowing who he is, Lilo still refers to him as "Stitch".

Lilo and Stitch's bond grew into terms with Stitch learning the ways of Hawaii and culture of Earth and Lilo being entranced by Stitch's abilities and alien culture. Though Lilo technically owns Stitch by Hawaiian state law, the relationship between the two is more like siblings and best friends. In terms to being friends/family, Lilo and Stitch show support, trust, and love for each other. They also get into mischievous antics which causes trouble not only for them but also to their family and friends around Hawaii in comparison to the duo's adventurous nature.

Stitch cares for Lilo's safety and well-being, proven protective of anyone who harms her and angered if she's emotionally hurt. In return, Lilo cares for Stitch's well-being, going out at harm's way to save him.

Though, at times, their friendship can meet a bitter end with Stitch's reckless behavior and Lilo focusing on what she wants and her hula career. An example is when they tried to catch Yin and Yang, often leading the two to catch them their own way. Another example is when Lilo became engrossed in a new hula dance and ignored Stitch in his attempts to help him, to the point where he was accepted into the circus and the circus was his family. Another and most prominent example is in Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch, where Stitch's molecules begin to shut down, Stitch malfunctions, as he was not fully charged during his creation, unintentionally ruining Lilo's attempts to win the May Day celebration, frequently experiences periodic glitches that have him revert to his original destructive programming; basically suffering from a seizure disorder and having nightmares of destroying everything and everyone in his path, including Lilo. Seeing this, Lilo was too focused on winning the contest; she didn't bother to pay any attention to him, believing Stitch was doing it on purpose in spite of him trying prove he's still good and something is wrong with him, where the two had a serious argument and were fighting. Even when their friendship takes a toll, the two always managed to reconcile, as Stitch still loves and cares for Lilo so much, as when he had another abrupt fit, he accidentally scratches her face, much to his shock like he did to her in his nightmare, Stitch believes he was too dangerous, he attempts to leave Earth, showing how much he cares for her well-being. In return, Lilo will come to realize what she's done and help Stitch in anyway, as she still considers Stitch her ʻohana. Upon learning of Stitch's molecules' shutting down, Lilo pleaded him to come back. After crashing a ship during another breakdown, Lilo found him and dragged him to the Fusion Chamber, despite his warnings that he's too dangerous even though she knows the truth, however, when she got him in, it was too late. Lilo emotionally broke down, apologizing to him focusing on her hula career than his problems, another example of how close the two are. In the moment, it turns out, his molecules were recharged and Lilo happily embraced him upon his reawakening.

Lilo and Stitch's bond can be stem from their comparison: loneliness. In terms of Lilo's odd behavior that made her an outcast from the kids from her hula class and Stitch being unlovable given his destructive programming. As Stitch doesn't want to be lonely, ever since there are experiments that were created before him, Lilo aids him in seeking out his "cousins" where they hunt them, turn them to good, and find their one true place on Earth.

Lilo can tolerate some of Stitch's negative qualities such as his gluttonous nature, picking his nose with his tongue, and his mischievous antics. He and Lilo would also participate in unusual and mischievous stunts, which often gets them into trouble with the authorities, but they do partake in other activities, such as sports, hula, and their idolization of Elvis Presley. Despite this, Stitch has little more common sense and be more mature than her, as when Lilo wanted to use Sprout to win an orchid competition, Stitch wasn't so sure it was wise, and he straight out told Lilo that it was her fault that Sprout had gone out of control. Lilo would also restrain Stitch if he gets aggressive and has a temper tantrum. Stitch would also restrain her, but this only occurs with her having conflicts with Mertle, which usually results with Lilo hitting her, though, Stitch won't hesitate to allow it if Mertle deeply offends her, such as allowing Lilo to hurt her when the she said she'll be talented as her mom, even to the point Stitch took pictures of the fight. Stitch can also show jealousy if Lilo shows any of the other experiments more affection towards them instead of him, such as Mr. Stenchy or Wishy-Washy. This just doesn't apply to cuteness but also skill, as Stitch envy Finder as Lilo found his skill at finding things. He also has no qualms at laughing at her given his childlike and mischievous attitude, as when Lilo lied about cleaning her room, Fibber beeps causing Stitch to laugh. However, he's also not above getting frustrated at her, such as making Fibber bunk with him in his bed after laughing at her 'cause Fibber beeping her lie or Lilo neglecting him after she's having with Elena, Teresa and Yuki at the Elizabethan Fair.

After three years of capturing his experiments, Stitch, along with Jumba and Pleakly, were given rewards as Stitch was granted captain of the B.R.B. 9000. Lilo was sad as she would never see the three again so they stay for the sake of her happiness, however, Lilo decided to let them go, much to her reluctance, but gives him a necklace with a tiki of the god Ku Tiki to give him strength and promises him to never take it off. After taking a photo of him, Stitch bid farewell to her. During the life as the captain was great but Stitch couldn't forgo his friend as Lilo was depressed, though, happy that the experiments have a place on Earth, she still misses him, in spite of the ʻohana spirit. Mertle concluded that Stitch "ran away" because of her "weirdness" and he's never coming back.

Lilo decided to contact him, Cobra was out of town so he went to Gantu's ship to ask for 625's help by making him a PB&J sandwich, than named him Reuben after realizing she never gave him one, to use the computer to contact him. However, unbeknownst to them, Stitch, along with Jumba and Pleakly, have been shipped to a black hole by Dr. Hämsterviel and Guntu, with the help of a new experiment Hämsterviel named Leroy, to which the latter foiled them into believing he was Stitch but Lilo discovered he was an imposter as "Stitch" wasn't wearing the tiki necklace that she had given Stitch. Sensing Stitch is in danger, Lilo, with the aide of Reuben, fixed Gantu's ship to travel to Planet Turo to seek the Grand Councilwoman's help. Upon discovering Hämsterviel's dominance and that he sent Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakly to a black hole, Lilo lost her ʻohana spirit. After a now-fired reformed Gantu helps the two escaped before being corner by Leroy clones, the G.A.C.C. van suddenly appears with use of a rock Lilo gave to Pleakly to change the coordinates, seeing them alive, Lilo was overjoyed as the two hugged before they all headed back to Earth to save the captured experiments from being eliminated by Hämsterviel.

After a battle between the experiments and Leroy clones, Lilo and Stitch came up an idea, as Jumba programmed a failed safe within Leroy, using the equipment set up for a concert, Stitch dresses up as Elvis Presley, with the help of Lilo and Reuben and several other experiments, performed "Aloha `Oe" that shuts down all the Leroy clones, including the original Leroy, and defeating Hämsterviel for good.

Back at Galactic Alliance HQ, the Grand Councilwoman calls Lilo and the others "heroes of the Alliance", Stitch, along with Jumba and Pleakly, ask to be allowed to return to Earth with Lilo, as family is more important than spaceships, laboratories, and prestige. Back on Earth, Lilo sets up for one last picture, with Stitch, Jumba, Pleakly, Nani, David, herself and all of Stitch's cousins, including Mertle and Gigi (who the formal still thinks Lilo is weird but the latter convinced her to join as she wanted to be part of the ʻohana) as her last picture for her cousins album.

Nani Pelekai

At first, Nani strongly disapprove of Stitch being Lilo's "dog" but was reluctant to agree since there were no other animals (because the animals were scared upon seeing Stitch in his alien form), and unlike Lilo, didn't treat him with respect or kindness. Also, like with Lilo, Nani doesn't know about Stitch being an alien who's being hunted, though, her suspicions were corrected as she dismissed him as a dog but a koala, an "evil koaloa" in her words. Stitch, in return, wasn't too fond of her as well. When he and Stitch were at her job at a luau, Stitch's evasion of Jumba and Pleakly caused her to get fired. Nani wanted to get rid of him and take him back to the animal shelter after causing a mess in their house until Lilo reminds her the meaning ʻohana. The next day wasn't even better, Nani's search for a job were futile given Lilo's idolization of Elvis and teaching his life to him made finding a job difficult as it brought nothing but trouble and disaster. Upon seeing Lilo and Nani, along with David, having fun made Stitch question about his purpose in life. On a surfboard with Nani and Lilo, when catching a wave, Stitch instantly held onto Nani's leg, in return, Nani smiled, hinting she may started to grown attached to him, that was until Stitch drowned and tried to drown Lilo, however, it was because Jumba tried to capture him underwater, this ended with Nani kicking Stitch after saving Lilo, it only makes matters worse when Cobra Bubbles saw the event, thinking Stitch tried to drown Lilo.

When Stitch runs away after causing so much trouble for the sisters, Lilo says it was for the best to which Nani consoles her.

Nani's suspicions about Stitch were ultimately confirmed after seeing Nani putting Lilo and Stitch in a capsule by Gantu, Nani tried to get Lilo back, but failed and Stitch escaped leaving Lilo behind. Nani armed herself with a tree branch and hits him, demanded to talk like Lilo said earlier and to know what's going to happen to Lilo, Stitch tried to calm her, however, upon seeing him in his alien form, she screamed and hits him again, demanded him to ask where's Lilo. However, when he was about answer, he was ambushed and capture by Jumba and Pleakly, Nani than asks to know where Lilo is, openly blaming Stitch for her being taken away referring him as "that thing" but they couldn't as they were only here for Stitch. Seeing Nani crying of not seeing her sister, Stitch came to her and says ʻohana, Jumba takes him away but she stops him to hear about the motto Stitch adopted about ʻohana. From that moment, Nani's opinion on him changed as he wanted Jumba and Pleakly to help rescue Lilo. However, after they rescued her, the Galactic Federation arrived to take him away, however, after hearing Stitch's story about finding his family, showing he considers Nani his family just as much as Lilo's, and when Lilo showed the Grand Councilwoman his adoption papers, they decided to let him stay and have his family under the protection of the Galactic Federation as he and Lilo embraced in a hug as Nani petted him (something she can't do earlier).

Like with Lilo, Nani refers to him as "Stitch".

Though, the two can have their moments, to some degree, unlike with Nani, she can tolerate some of his negative qualities, mainly his destructive behavior. As with Lilo, that their relationship is like siblings and best friends, Nani also treats him as in terms like a little brother, as Nani won't hesitate to ground him and Lilo for their mischievous antics.

In spite of this mutual quarrel, Nani still holds Stitch in high regard, trusting him to look after Lilo if anything happens to her, and still considers him as her ʻohana. This prominent example is in Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch, is where Stitch is shutting down and suffering from breakdowns given his molecules weren't fully charged, This was brought during movie night when Stitch splattered the food Nani cooked all her, Lilo, Jumba, Pleakly, and David. Though, there wasn't much given Stitch was helping Lilo with winning the May Day celebration but his breakdowns were ruining their chances, mainly, Lilo's. This serves as an ironic comparison between Lilo, who she has a strong bond and goes on adventures with him, and Nani, who considers him as family but gets annoyed and/or disgusted with his mischievous behavior, after another episode he had during a recital at the hula school; where Lilo was furious and shunned him while Nani thought it couldn't those but Nani believes she doesn't mean that. Nani also serves at the voice of reason to clear things between two if their friendship takes a toll, as she tried to stop them from arguing and fighting until she had enough and demanded to two to go their room and make up like loving friends, showing how much Nani values and respects their friendship. Nani even shows deep care for the experiment, after having his molecules fully shut down, Nani was seen crying and David holding her after his apparent death but later becomes over joyed when he revived.

Nani and Stitch also share concern for Lilo's well-being and safety, that much they agree with, such as Lilo being depressed on the day their parents' died.

When it comes to Lilo and Stitch experiment hunting, while Nani doesn't approve of any experiments in their house, she tends to help them in certain ways, such as stopping Frenchfry from eating the two or finding out the sticking substance Link tethers them washes out with mud, though, it was by accident given a water skiing event gone wrong but the customer was excited nonetheless.

When the experiments were all rehabilitated and found their one true place, Nani was grateful for Lilo giving them what they want for her ʻohana, even though they'll never each other again. As such, when they departed, Nani was also seen saddened that Stitch, along with Jumba and Pleakly, are going, showing she'll, too, miss them. In end, after the three decided to stay, Nani, with David, was in the group photo with them and all the experiments, along with Mertle on Gig's favor, as their extended ʻohana.

Dr. Jumba Jookiba

Jumba is Stitch's creator, naming him Experiment 626. As stated by the former, Jumba created 626 to be unstoppable and his main instinct is to destroy everything he touches. During Jumba's trial by the Galactic Federation, the Grand Councilwoman wanted if 626 has any signs of goodness in him to which he responded by "Meega nala kweesta!" to which Jumba didn't teach him that, this caused Jumba to be found guilty and be imprisoned. Later, Jumba chuckled in delight, not being surprised that 626 escaped, as the Grand Councilwoman came to him to retrieve 626, in return, she and the council will grant him his freedom, to which he accepts.

Heading to planet Earth, Jumba, with Pleakley, arrived at Hawaii where 626 crashed landed. At the animal shelter, 626 avoided some plasma blasts before sneaking back in, where he poses as a dog for a little girl name Lilo, who the latter names him Stitch. Coming into view gain, Jumba tried to shoot him again, however, as Lilo came out, Pleakley diverted the blast's projectile.

While Jumba approves of Stitch's destructive behavior, Jumba has his standards himself, as her verbally expressed using Lilo as a shield is low even for him, to which Stitch waved his butt at him.

Across the island, Jumba and Pleakley's attempts to capture ended up in failure, it also caused some difficulties with Lilo and Nani, such as Cobra taking Lilo into foster care. As seeing the family fallen apart given Stitch's mishaps, he questions about his purpose in life after destroying a model of San Francisco given Hawaii is a small island with no large cities, coming to realize he has nothing if he cannot wreak havoc and destroy because he was only created to be a monster. Jumba even admitted to Pleakly as he only designed Stitch to be a monster and he never gave him a greater purpose. Lilo even believed that the only reason Stitch originally pursued his destructiveness was because he was emotionally scarred for having been made a monster by Jumba.

After Jumba and Pleakley were fired by the Grand Councilwoman, Jumba took delight to this news as they can capture Stitch his way. Upon finding Stitch, who ran away after causing trouble to Lilo and Nani, encounters him, saying he's expensive. Jumba questions why he doesn't run only to find The Ugly Duckling book, Stitch explained he was waiting for a family but Jumba notes him that he can never have a family or "belong" because he was just built to destroy. Jumba than demanded him to come back so he can take him apart but it was enough to make Stitch ran way back to Lilo, who wouldn't work since they were fired. A battle ensures between, as Jumba had no qualms harming him, even taking him apart and putting him back together, taller and not so fluffy, even suggesting that Jumba gives him "his good looks" but added "somethings went wrong", Stitch didn't hesitate to harm his creator. The battle ended with Lilo and Nani's house exploded when Jumba clogged the plasma cannon with a carrot.

Upon capturing Stitch, Pleakley made Jumba "read him his rights", as in pummeling him. When the two were relieved to Nani, she demanded them to get Lilo, however, Jumba explained to Nani that he and Pleakly were only here for Stitch, thus believing Lilo will never return until Stitch recites their ʻohana, Stitch demanded Jumba to help them rescue Lilo to which the angry scientist responded on how much he put him through and expects him to help them, Stitch casually agreed to which Jumba did, explaining to Pleakly that he's "very persuasive".

After saving Lilo from Ganut, Jumba was berated by the Grand Councilwoman for creating Stitch until she saw his well-mannered attitude. When he and Pleakly were exiled to Earth, he and Stitch became on better terms with each other as they became part of their new family.

While Jumba refers to him as "626", there are times he often refers to him as "Stitch".

Even though Jumba is glad for Stitch's happiness, he can be disappointed at times for not seeing his destructive programming, he still cares for his creation as though Stitch was his own son. During his creation, Jumba at first something went wrong as Stitch come out "cute and fluffy" until he tried to viciously attacked him, which made the scientist felt relieved, he even was gave him the battle suit to which Stitch tried to take a peek but couldn't because it was a surprise, even remarking that he's "cheating" already much to his delight. However, as he was being arrested, Stitch's molecules weren't fully charged, Jumba expressed deep concern of what would happen, hoping it would never one day but it did in Stitch has a Gltch where Stitch started to have frequent glitches that reverts him back to his destructive programming. Upon mourning Stitch's apparent death, Jumba, along with the others, were over joyed upon his revival.

As with Jumba, Stitch cares for his creator, as he tried to get him back from Gantu but failed and wanted to get from back from Dr. Hämsterviel, though, after finding out he their are other experiments before him, he couldn't give them to Hämsterviel for Jumba's ransom. Regardless, Stitch wanted to save him. Jumba would help Stitch and Lilo with hunting the experiments, often seeking advice and/or technology to capture them and deal with their unique abilities. Their friendship can have defects, however, as when Jumba was piloting his ship to his home planet, Kweltikwan, and abandoning Earth to be destroyed by an asteroid, Stitch didn't hesitate to tie him up. Also, Jumba, after being fed up with Stitch's egotism, created Experiment 627, designed to be a better, albeit worse, than Stitch with more abilities, no flaws, and can't be rehabilitated. Though, they would work it out given their 'ohana.

Wendy Pleakley

Stitch and Pleakley had a firm relationship with each other, though, it wasn't upon the first.

When Stitch crashed landed on Hawaii, Pleakley wanted 626 captured smoothly without the military force of the Galactic Federation causing world-wide panic given Earth is a protective wildlife preserve for mosquitoes due to their endangered species. Being pair with Jumba, Pleakley called this mission to be hazardous as Stitch is using Lilo to protect himself while he poses as a dog. Pleakley and Jumba's attempts to capture him ended up in failure, one of their attempts got his head chewed by the experiment at a luau.

Across the island, Jumba and Pleakley's attempts to capture ended up in failure, it also caused some difficulties with Lilo and Nani, such as Cobra taking Lilo into foster care. As seeing the family fallen apart given Stitch's mishaps, he questions about his purpose in life after destroying a model of San Francisco given Hawaii is a small island with no large cities, coming to realize he has nothing if he cannot wreak havoc and destroy because he was only created to be a monster, Pleakley listened to Jumba admitting he only designed Stitch to be a monster and he never gave him a greater purpose.

After Jumba and Pleakley were fired by the Grand Councilwoman, Jumba took delight to this news as they can capture Stitch his way, which concerns Pleakley. When Jumba and Stitch battle inside the house, Pleakley worried about Lilo's well-being.

Upon capturing Stitch after the house explode, Pleakley allowed Jumba to "read him his rights", as in pummeling him. When the two were relieved to Nani, she demanded them to get Lilo, however, Pleakley explained that it will be misuse of Galactic resources, Jumba than added they are only here for Stitch. However, when Stitch asked Jumba to help get Lilo back after taking the meaning of ʻohana, Pleakley curiously commented doing what he's says for Jumba to respond that Stitch is "very persuasive".

Pleakley agreed to help them get Lilo back. After saving her, only for Stitch to be taken into custody by the Grand Councilwoman, Pleakley assured her that they got the credited for capturing him but she arrested him, therefore the credit goes for her. Upon seeing Stitch well-behaved and compassion manners, Pleakley ponders to the Grand Councilwoman for Stitch going, showing how much his opinion about him changed. When he and Pleakly were exiled to Earth, he and Stitch became on better terms with each other as they became part of their new family.

Like with Jumba, Nani, David, and Lilo, along with a few others who knew about him, Pleakley refers to him as "Stitch". When Stitch and Lilo began hunting the other experiments across the island, Pleakley refers to him as "little monster", though, he grown out of referring to him after the experiments were captured.

While Stitch and Pleakley do not have the best of terms, they are family and friends. In comparison with Nani, Pleakley would also act as an authoritative figure to him and Lilo, punishing the two if their mischievous antics go to far, and keeping them in line if their already punished. Pleakley would even be terrified or be disgusted by his antics. Though, given Pleakley's interests in Earth culture, he'll often try to resolve this in a patient approach. The two share a deep concern for Lilo's well-being, including each other, as when Stitch's molecules weren't fully charged and begin malfunctioning, Pleakley helped Jumba build a fusion chamber to recharged him and seeing his apparent death, he, along with the others, were deeply devastated, but upon his revival, Pleakley became overjoyed. Stitch, in return, cares about Pleakley and does consider him as family, as he would help lie to his family about finding a bride so he could stay on Earth, save him from Poxy and Phantasmo, and even encouraging him to capture Yaarp. Stitch also would get frustrated and angry at him at certain times, as when Pleakley questioned freeing Angel and yelled that she isn't an angel, Stitch got angry and pounced on him, and it took Lilo to restrain him from hitting him. However, Stitch would even seek help from him, as they wanted Pleakley to play basketball against Mertle's team. Stitch even showed sympathy as Lilo told him about Pleakley being terrible at baseball.

David Kawena

At a luau, Stitch laughed at the expense when David accidentally caught the stage on fire and burnt himself.

Like with Lilo and Nani, David doesn't know about Stitch being alien. He also questioned Lilo if Stitch is a dog, something that Nani questioned earlier as well.

There wasn't much interaction between the two, though, upon seeing him having fun with Lilo and Nani, made Stitch ponder about finding his. When they were out surfing, David rubbed his head which caused the alien to be briefly hostile before shrugging it off. During a wipe out caused by Jumba and Pleakley, Nani rescued Lilo believing Stitch tried to drown him, however, when Lilo stated Stitch is still down under, David rescued him. After the confrontation between Nani and Cobra, David passively confide to Stitch that he believed the sisters had have a chance to stay together before pointing it out Stitch came along, showing his disinterest and doubts towards him.

David doesn't completely hold him in disdain, even after learning about him being alien, David was nonchalant about it.

After Stitch was "exiled" to Earth, with Lilo and Nani as his "caretakers", their relationship became on better terms. Stitch performed in a luau with him, and went surfing than canoeing, along with Lilo and Nani.

Unlike with Nani, David is patient with Stitch and Lilo's mischievous antics. The two have a connection when it comes to Lilo's well-being. David even comes to Stitch and Lilo's aid for advice or support, such as teaching Lilo about the meaning Yin and Yang when she and Stitch have trouble working together which later they did when Yin and Yang, two experiments activated at the same time, and when he and Nani rescued him, Lilo, Pleakley, Jumba, Gantu, Reuben, and Splodyhead from the Forbidden Island of Niʻihau, which the group had been stranded on for hours.

Even though their friends, Stitch does consider David as family given the latter's history with Nani and Lilo.

Experiments

As Stitch is Experiment 626, there are 625 experiments before him.

When Stitch was having a difficult time connecting with the island locals during a beach party, feeling he doesn't fit in and is too much of an outcast, Stitch asked Jumba if their are any one like him to which he doesn't. There were right and wrong, respectively, as Stitch, along with Lilo and Pleakley, found the experiment pod container which has them.

Inspired by Hawaiian terminology, Stitch refers to them as "cousins" and considers them all a part of his ʻohana, or as in "extended family".

Like Lilo, Stitch doesn't want his cousins to be bad like he use to and didn't want to give them away to Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel, who intends to use to take over the Galactic Federation. After the experiment pods were falling out of the container, Stitch, along with Lilo, are in charge of capturing them and rehabilitate them, than finding their one true place they belong.

Stitch holds them in high regard, showing a deep connection and concern for their well-being, as to not let Hämsterviel or Gantu capture them for their own malicious purposes, even when taking longer to turn them into good, Stitch still holds his faith in them.

When hunting them when activated, Stitch will rescue them or capture them in a container, a net, or other uses within the environment around him and the said experiment. However, Stitch won't hesitate to use force or get aggressive given his natural impulses, temper, or when things don't go as planned and/or when situations get necessary.

While Stitch refers to them as "cousins", he also refers to the name Lilo gives them.

Stitch can be also patient with his cousins' antics, whether their personalities, habits, or their unique abilities, however, their are times Stitch gets aggressive and acts like a bully. Such as Nosy's gossiping, Fibber's lie detecting ability, Gigi's constant yapping, and Sample mimicking any noise and/or sound he hears. He's also gets prone to jealousy if any of his family, mainly Lilo, gives the experiment more attention than him, as Stitch got really envy when Lilo, Jumba, and Pleakley were giving Mr. Stenchy affection due to his extreme cuteness since other experiments, like Stitch, are immune to his charms. Stitch also has a rivalry with some of the experiments, such as Kixx, 627, and Finder. Stitch is even aware of each of the experiments capabilities, such as being openly blunt to Lilo about Sprout going wild and stopping PJ's pranks from getting too far. Stitch would even go as far as to let his cousins get captured such as Nosy, Heckler, and Tank.

In spite of this, Stitch will not forgo his ʻohana as Stitch, along with Lilo, will rescue them, even the ones that were already captured by Gantu.

Stitch is also immune to some of the experiments abilities who are created before him, such as Checkers' mind control and Angel's siren song. However, he can be affected by several others, such as Amnesio's memory wipe, Babyfier's age reversal, Spike's spikes making him goofy, turning into a bug by Bugby, Lax making him lazy, Dupe duplicating him and thus weakening his strength, being fed non-nutritious meals and fatten up into a bowling ball by Frenchfry, getting his mind swapped by Swapper, Swirly's hypnosis, putting to sleep by Drowsy, and being turned invisible by Houdini. There are also experiments that will cause negative effects on his body given his physiology, such as Yaarp's sonic blasts made him deaf due to his highly sensitive ears and being drained by Snooty as Stitch is 62% Snootonium making him temporarily exhausted from dehydration.

Stitch and the experiments will also hang out with each other, such as playing poker, having a sleepover, playing sports, helping the community, and they made mud pies and got messy with him and Lilo.

Stitch's cousins are also loyal to him, as they will come to his aide to help rescue the other experiments, stop Gantu, and joining in one of Lilo's hula performances.

During the events when the experiments were all captured by a Leroy clone, Leroy, his clones, and Dr. Hämsterviel, Stitch, along with the help of Lilo, Jumba, Pleakley, Gantu, and Reuben, saved them before they were all destroyed. Stitch and his cousins than partake in the battle against Leroy and his army of clones, however, despite some initial victories, the Leroys were overpowering them in numbers. Upon seeing the stage, Stitch, along with Lilo and Reuben, played "Aloha ʻOe" that not only shut down the Leroy clones but the original as well. Some of the experiments join in on performing as the rest cheered for the performance. At the end, Stitch and his cousins later joined in for Lilo's last picture she sets up with them, along with Pleakley, Jumba, Nani, David, including Mertle and Gigi, who the former stated the latter convinced her to join in, as part of her ʻohana as her last picture for her cousins album.

Chopsuey

Chopsuey developed an superiority complex towards Stitch since Jumba had been disappointed in his results of collecting DNA samples, claiming to be met with little success, and was envy because Jumba gave Stitch more attention than he did to him as Jumba had high hopes for Stitch and satisfied with his achievements.

It should be noted that Chopesuey was presumably designed prototype for Stitch, or for the latter's purpose.

Because of his jealous, and neglect from Jumba, Chopssuey became obsessed with proving he was "superior" to 626 which included trying to kill him.

Initially, Stitch didn't pay any attention to Chopseuy's motivations until Jumba caught him putting DNA in the mutation machine, where Stitch ran to stop him, but it was too late. Before being mutated, Chopsuey ranted about how Stitch was Jumba's best and he was sick of it of him being his best creation, showing Chopseuy mutated himself to eliminate him so Jumba would consider him to be his favorite. When Chopseuy mutated into a bigger and stronger form, the two battled against each other, in which Chopseuy could settle things, however, given Chopseuy's use of sheer strength than skill, and his recklessness and clumsiness, Stitch tricked him into electrocuting himself.

Though, some time between him being deactivated to his pod form and rehabilitated after being activated on Hawaii, its presumably that Chopseuy let go of his grudge towards him, as evident that Hämsterviel captured all 623 experiments, which include him, and being saved from Stitch, along with the help of Lilo, Jumba, Pleakley, Gantu, and Reuben.

Sparky

Sparky is the second experiment Stitch interacted and developed a connection.

When he and Lilo need one to recharge Jumba's ship to get Jumba back from Gantu, they picked Sparky, however, since almost all of the experiments were created to cause panic and chaos, he and Lilo venture off to capture him. Stitch had no qualms in doing so, he was surprised by Sparky's comment "Meega nala kweesta!", something Stitch himself said earlier. Upon being capture, Sparky was furious at the two.

At their house, Sparky and Stitch were left alone with the former growling at the latter. Sparky's attitude changed when he and Stitch discovered from their interaction that they had much in common, such as flipping their ears down and up, having a pair of extra arms, and picking their noses with their tongues, Stitch delightfully hugged his cousin, though, still trapped in a vase. Thus, Stitch didn't want to give Sparky away even though Dr. Hämsterviel a ransom for all the experiments for Jumba's return, already accepting him as his ʻohana.

At the location where Hämsterviel, Gantu, Cobra, Pleakley, and Jumba were at, Stitch and Lilo let Sparky free from the vase to avoid being being recaptured by Hämsterviel.

Sparky's attitude towards Stitch shows his loyalty after the former took the Hawaiian terminology "cousins", he first overload the Grand Councilwoman's ship to save the other experiments but also, unintentionally, allowing Hämsterviel to escape with them. His loyalty was shown again when he helped Stitch himself from being cut in half and freed him before the two took revenge on Hämsterviel before Sparky destroyed Hämsterviel's cloning machine. Sparky later disabled Gantu ship's navigation and ejected it from Hämsterviel's mother ship with Gantu and 625 (Reuben) trapped inside it with Lilo and Stitch's help.

Stitch and Lilo than found Sparky's one true place by powering the abandoned Kilauea Lighthouse, where he could make the giant sized light work again, and as it was big enough, he would not short it out when he touched it.

At times, Sparky would later help Stitch out with hunting the experiments or stopping Gantu's dominance. When Sparky was turned evil by Angel, along with Yin, Yang, Ritcher, Cannonball, Slushy, and Kixx, Stitch couldn't bring himself to fight them, though, it should be noted Stitch was heartbroken when Angel betrayed him, that's when Angel sang backwards turning them back to good, Stitch later requested Sparky's help to disable the generator's electricity grid. Sparky than later helped Stitch, along with the help of Clip, Kixx, Ritcher, Yin, Backhoe, Spooky, Elastico, Deforestator, Cannonball, Holio, and Reuben, to overthrow Gantu when he hypnotized everyone with Checkers to make them obey him as king. He later helped him and Lilo again, with the aide of Bonnie, Clyde, Finder, and Sample, to break into Gantu's ship to free the other experiments held captive. Sparky would even hang out with Stitch, as he was one of the audience members for Lilo's hula dance.

After the experiments, along with Sparky, were captured by a Leroy clone, Stitch, along with LiloLilo, Stitch, Jumba, Pleakley, Reuben and Gantu saved them from being destroyed. Sparky later participated in the following battle between the experiments and the Leroy clones. Stitch, Lilo, and Reuben played "Aloha ʻOe" that shuts down Leroy and his clones. Sparky later joined in with him and the rest of the experiments in Lilo's photo of their ʻohana.

Reuben

Reuben is created before Stitch, as such he has the all the powers and capabilities as the latter, though, Reuben is incredibly lazy and a coward, preferring to make sandwiches.

Stitch seems to be aware of Reuben being taken away by Gantu while he was in pod form, though, he made no attempts to save him from Gantu.

In spite of Reuben's affiliations with Gantu, Stitch doesn't consider him as a threat and/or a setback when hunting experiments. Like so, Reuben doesn't get involved with him and since Gantu hunts the experiments, he prefers to stay on the sidelines. Though, Reuben gets scared if he ever faces Stitch himself, and Stitch has no qualms of fighting him, nor hurting him given Reuben is lazy and a coward. However, Reuben is not above mocking him, as Gantu captured and took Angel, calling him and Lilo "losers" that Angel is theirs.

There are times Reuben and Stitch would work together, mainly to overthrow Gantu, Reuben and Stitch gathered Cannonball, Clip, Kixx, Ritcher, Yin, Backhoe, Spooky, Elastico, Deforestator, and Holio to stop him after using Checkers to hypnotize everyone to make them obey him as king. He also provided information to him and Lilo about 627's weakness of his uncontrollable laughter caused by his extra sense of humor, but he done that because he wanted 627 to stop bullying him.

Like Stitch, Reuben also has a crush on Angel, who's song can't affect them because the two were created after her. Unlike Stitch, Reuben only favors her for her appearance. However, when Angel reveals her motives of working with Gantu, Reuben commented that even though their immune to her song they did fell for her, adding she's incapable of tender feelings for them, to which Stitch sadly agrees, though, this later proven to be false, as Angel developed genuine feelings for Stitch for not only his immunity to her song but for his kindness as well.

Stitch and Reuben also share common interests in Earth culture. They also share envy towards Mr. Stenchy, as noted other experiments are immune to his adorable charms, as Stitch gave Mr. Stenchy to Gantu only for the him to come back to get him where Reuben agreed with Stitch's plan to get Mr. Stenchy away from Gantu.

Stitch's attitude towards Reuben changed during the events Hämsterviel, Leroy, and his clones took control of the Galactic Federation, where Reuben helped him, Lilo, Jumba, Pleakley, along with Gantu's help, save the experiments from being destroyed than participated in the battle against Leroy and his clones. The two later played "Aloha ʻOe" with Lilo playing along to shut down Leroy and his clones.

It was that event that Stitch and Reuben accepted each other as cousins. Stitch would even act like a brother to Reuben.

Angel

Angel is Stitch's boyfriend, as for obvious reasons, Angel is the only experiment to not be regarded as one of Stitch's relatives.

Stitch first met Angel when he chased her in an alley and was instantly smitten with her. Stitch than immediately fell in love with her after the latter licked the former's face, though, Lilo was suspicious of her but Stitch ultimately convinced Lilo to let her come home with them, after which he named her Angel. During her stay, Angel seduced Stitch with her charm, while the latter maintained a crush on her. At one point, as they sat together in a hammock, Angel was intrigued when Stitch picked his nose with his tongue to which he was embarrassed, though, Angel picked her nose as well, to which made Stitch delighted.

However, unbeknownst to him, Angel was working with Gantu, who had sent her to successfully seduce Stitch and lure him into a trap. Lilo's suspicious were confirmed after she discovered she turned Jumba evil again, however, Stitch wasn't aware of this. When Stitch proposed to her with a a bouquet of flowers, flattered, she sings her song to turn him evil but failed as Stitch was created after her, though, he did complimented her song. It was that moment, Angel started to develop genuine feelings for him, as she soon left the house with regret. Stitch chased after her, running into several experiments that were reverted back to evil by Angel's song, but Stitch remain oblivious, as he focused on getting Angel's attention.

Eventually, Stitch was lured to Gantu's ship, where Angel reveals her true colors to Stitch by trapping him inside, along with Gantu, Reuben, and with several recaptured evil experiments. Stitch was left utterly heartbroken. Reuben even added that while their immune to her song they did fell for her, further commenting that she's incapable of tender feelings for them, to which Stitch sadly agrees, though, this later proven to be false, as Angel started to feel regret and guilt of betraying him. This proves to be a ironic comparison with Stitch, who had first wasn't interest and was disgusted about love, who he later developed strong genuine feelings towards Angel, Lilo, who tells him to believe in love, while she showed suspicion and paranoia towards Angel, and Reuben, who also has a crush on Angel, initially believed she isn't capable of compassion and love, while Angel was deceiving him the entire time, started to developed feelings towards.

At the moment where Angel shattered his heart, Stitch was about to be finish off by the now-evil experiments, he said his goodbye to "boojiboo", it would be noted that Stitch couldn't bring himself to harm his cousins given he was emotionally crushed. Realizing how much she really loves him, Stitch turned the experiments back to good before Kixx could land the fatal blow. Delighted for Angel's redemption, Stitch has the experiments disabled the ship's navigation as Angel watched affectionately. As the shipped crashed, Stitch and Angel held hands together, however, the triumphant was short-lived as Gantu captured her, after catching Stitch in a net, and escaped. It left Stitch heartbroken again but Lilo assures him they will get her back.

Out of all the experiments, Stitch has a special connection with Angel. Stitch is shown to be protective of her, as he tried to protect her from getting captured by Gantu, though, failed. Stitch will also get furious and angry if she's offended in anyway, as Pleakley questioned about rescuing her after the trouble she put them through and stated she's no angel. This greatly angers him to where Stitch pounces on him and was about to hit him before Lilo held him back.

Stitch even still has memories and thoughts of her, as Lilo asked if he remembers her, he did. He even has a shrine of her under his bed. It was there Stitch brought up Lilo's promise to bring her back, which Lilo responded they don't know where she is. With Nosy coming in, he reveals that she, along with the rest of the experiments, are locked in a secret compartment of Gantu' ship. Lilo than promised to get Angel back, along with the rest of the experiments, though, Stitch was excited to see her, he was also nervous.

Lilo and Stitch than formed a plan to break into Gantu's ship with a few experiments, however, Snafu foiled their plans. Once they broke in, Stitch was excited to see her again, as well with Angel seeing him, however, as they were about to break the experiments out, they were captured, due to Snafu, who was also captured as well.

With hope lost at not only failing to free the experiments but Angel as well, Lilo was disappointed that love can't overcome everything. When Angel heard the word "love", Stitch expressed his love for Angel, to where it touched her greatly after he confessed, it gave her the strength to break out of her containment orb than frees Stitch, where the two hugged. After freeing Lilo, Stitch and Angel broke the other experiments free from their containment orbs, and escaped from Gantu's ship.

At their home, Stitch and Angel left shortly after on a date as they held hands.

Angel than became part of Stitch and Lilo's ʻohana.

As with Stitch, Angel is shown to be seductive to him, as she grabs onto him and just tries to be near him at all times. Also, like Stitch, Angel is very protective of him, as Angel became worried and took down four Leroy clones as they surround Stitch.

The two refers to each other as "boojiboo", a term of endearment or loved one, usually in the romantic sense, in their native Tantalog language.

During the events after the experiments where captured by Hämsterviel, Leroy, and his clones took control of the Galactic Federation, Stitch, Lilo, Jumba, Pleakley, along with Reuben and Gantu, saved her and the other experiments from being destroyed. Angel than participated in the battle against Leroy and his army of clones. When seeing Stitch in danger, Angel took down four Leroy clones, she than blew a kiss at him where Stitch thanked her. Angel later cheered at Stitch's performing "Aloha ʻOe" with Lilo and Reuben playing to shut down Leroy and his clones. Angel later joined in with him and the rest of the experiments in Lilo's photo of their ʻohana.

Notes

  • Stitch was originally never seen in pod form, in the movies, or the series. This is likely that Jumba never had time to put him in pod form, and while on earth, either Jumba never had the opportunity or he never needed to.
  • Stitch's last name is never stated. It could be Pelekai or Jookiba. However, he simply may not have one as his true name is "Experiment 626," and Lilo states his name is "Stitch" when she adopted him from the dog shelter.
  • Several times in the franchise he has regurgitated food, like when when he grabbed Lilo's cake from his stomach. This implies that he has no gag reflex.
  • Stitch has never had to wear a space-suit which indicates he has an ability to withstand low pressures and have a minimal or no need of breathing.
  • Stitch prefers to speak his own gibberish because he has a limited English vernacular.
  • Stitch is warm-blooded.

Trivia

  • Despite not appearing in the show itself (as the show ran for about one year before the movie came out), Stitch was featured with Lilo in some online games for the television series House of Mouse.
  • In a deleted scene of the original film, Stitch was responsible for the death of Pudge the fish. This incident made him learn about the consequences of his evil actions and gain a better understanding of mortality. It was cut out because Disney figured it would be too morbid for a protagonist to kill someone and would also set a bad example for children. In addition, Stitch is more interested in vandalism than violence.
    • Another deleted scene where Jumba attacks Stitch, resulting in the Pelekai residence accidentally being burned down, was actually going to have more violent scenes like Stitch actually using a chainsaw to attack Jumba, and Stitch setting the house on fire by biting apart a gas pipe and tricking Jumba into shooting it with his blaster. The final version of the same scene has everything violent edited out and replaced in favor of making the scene more slapstick-oriented (Jumba knocking the ceiling down with dishes instead of laser blasts, Jumba's "shuriken" being made of hairbrushes and a tube of toothpaste instead of knives and a pizza cutter, the entire chainsaw scene shortened), had more comedic scenes added in (exploding Scrump, Stitch catching Jumba's laser, Stitch yelling, "Blue Punch Buggy! No punch-back!" when hitting Jumba with Nani's VW, the Elvis Presley song "Hound Dog" playing in the background), and the house being destroyed by having Stitch stop up Jumba's blaster with a carrot and then having them both play "Hot Potato" with it until the blaster overloads and explodes.
  • Stitch appears, along with several other Lilo & Stitch characters, in a parody of the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical, which was broadcast as part of the High School Musical: Around the World one-year anniversary special.
    • In said parody, when Stitch and the other experiments are looking up at the ceiling, Stitch is colored red and 627 is colored blue. It is unknown how this happened, though it could be a continuity error.
  • In the Stitch! anime, he talks in complete sentences, his English has improved, and has more dialogue.
    • This may actually imply that his command of Japanese is better than his English; since he is on an island prefecture of Japan, it is reasonable that he is speaking the local language, and thus the American-dubbed version is actually a case of "audience filter". On the other hand, since the anime takes place years after Leroy & Stitch, Stitch may have spent enough time on Hawaii before leaving to actually get a decent grasp on English. It should also be noted that English is heavily-taught as a second language in Japan.
    • However, in Stitch & Ai, he mainly speaks his original dialect (Tantalog).
  • Stitch has a tendency to refer to himself in the third person. He developed this habit probably because of his broken English or he had gotten it from Jumba, whom he too refers to himself in the third person.
    • In Lilo & Stitch, the only two times he did this was after he was apprehended by the Grand Councilwoman, asking her if he has to go into her ship, and if he can say goodbye to Lilo and Nani.
    • In Stitch Has a Glitch, he is shown to do this less often.
    • In the English dub of the Stitch! anime, he does it even less often than before, but over the course of the series, he seems to have grown out of this habit.
  • While Stitch and the other experiments are technically siblings, "cousins" is a Hawaiian term, like "ʻohana", for extended family and close friends, although Stitch only uses it in regard to the experiments.
  • Stitch loves reading his favorite storybook, The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen, which he obtained from Lilo at some point.
    • The plot revolving around the book mirrors Stitch questioning his purpose, as it revolves around his loneliness and desire to find a family, to which he did in the end.
    • Stitch also developed a fondness for ducks as he showed some ducklings the storybook, as seen in the credits of Lilo & Stitch.
  • Stitch apparently has a fondness for frogs, as seen in Lilo & Stitch where Stitch saves one from being blasted from a plasma gun of Gantu's ship.
  • He is also very fond of sea turtles and even sleeps with a stuffed one, as seen in Stitch Has a Glitch.
    • In the end credits of Lilo & Stitch, Stitch is also seen covering a turtle and its baby with a leaf.
  • Stitch likes to dress up as Elvis Presley, and is very skilled at playing the ukulele.
  • His favorite foods are coconut cake and coffee, which are the very first Earth-based food and drink he ever ate, as seen in the original film and also mentioned in Stitch! The Movie. However, whenever he drinks coffee, he gains a massive amount of uncontrollable energy. Ironically, in "Slugger", he drank a large bowl of cappuccino, along with Lilo's cappuccino, but didn't go crazy at all.
    • He has also been shown to eat anything inedible and very rarely doesn't like to eat something. An exception was in "Spooky", when he spit out a lemon, saying, "Ew, organic!", implying he might not like lemons.
      • However, in "Shortstuff", Stitch, as a giant, drank some lemonade from the cart he accidentally smashed without expressing any disgust, and in "Swapper", he drank a whole bowl of lemonade (albeit modified by Jumba to cause those who drink it to temporarily change colors), again without expressing any disgust, which would contradict this supposed dislike of lemons. It could be that either Stitch doesn't like organically-grown foods (as his heightened senses might have the unintended side effect of him tasting even the tiniest amounts of manure residue), he doesn't like the taste of unsweetened lemons or lemon juice, or him spitting out the organic lemon was nothing more than a simple joke.
    • In the anime, he also loves Yuna's blue crab sushi.
  • Due to a continuity error, Stitch's ear notches have a tendency to disappear or change position in some works or merchandise.
  • Following after Stitch! The Movie, Stitch's toes have changed from dark blue to black.
    • Additionally, following after Stitch Has a Glitch, Stitch's fur color has changed from dark blue to light blue.
  • Stitch's blood is revealed to be pink.
  • When Stitch has a glitch, his eyes glow green.
    • In the original movie, Stitch's eyes were shown green after he crashed landed on Earth. In Stitch Has a Glitch, the animation was reused in the beginning.
  • Stitch is the first successful destructing experiment that Jumba created after two failures: 600 and 625.
  • Stitch was originally supposed to be the last experiment that Jumba created before he got arrested by the Galactic Federation, before 627, 628 and Leroy.
  • Stitch is one of two experiments that was never seen in pod form, the other being Leroy.
  • Usually when Stitch rolls into a ball, he puts his feet into his mouth and covers his face with his butt. In "Dupe" and "Snafu", his ball form resembles Cannonball's ball form in Leroy & Stitch.
  • Stitch is described by the experiment computer screen as, "Experiment 626. Primary function: Destruction of populated areas. Weapons: Sharp teeth and strong jaws for tearing stone, metal and flesh, 4 clawed hands, and 3 poisonous spines. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS."
  • Since Lilo's adoption of Stitch was a legal process under State of Hawaii law (complete with legal documentation), it can be said that his legal name is indeed "Stitch" and not "Experiment 626". Disney INFINITY seems to re-enforce this by describing him as "Dr. Jumba's former Experiment 626" on the description for Stitch in the games' Hall of Heroes.
    • This may also provide additional context when he interrupts the Grand Councilwoman to clarify his name in the denouement of Lilo & Stitch, as he may also imply that it would no longer be considered proper to refer to him as "Experiment 626" in any further formal or legal matters. Since he is referred to as "Captain Stitch" when he joins the Galactic Armada in Leroy & Stitch, it could also be that the United Galactic Federation does formally acknowledge "Stitch" as his proper legal name; if they didn't, then he would have been "Captain 626" instead.
  • In the prequel comics, it is revealed that Stitch's genes contain those of some of the most powerful creatures in the galaxy, as well as some of Jumba's for "brains and good looks." One of the genes was a puppy, explaining Stitch's resemblance to a dog (though Jumba did not know how it got in there).
  • In Stitch & Ai, it is revealed that Stitch has a metamorphosis code programmed in his DNA, which transforms him into a gigantic monster armed with four tentacle-like blasters.
    • However, a deleted version of the opening of the original film contradicts this. In this opening, the Galactic Council shows video footage of Experiment 626—in his familiar small size—causing chaos and destruction in an alien city, including tipping over a skyscraper by lifting it from its base. The existence of this scene strongly suggests that Chris Sanders, Stitch's creator, never intended or at least considered giving Stitch this metamorphosis ability, thus likely making the monstrous "destruction form" in Stitch & Ai a retcon or a "revision" of the character.
  • Toothless, a Night Fury from DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon franchise, bears a strong resemblance to Stitch. Even their facial expressions are similar, especially those showing excitement, wariness, and anger. However, their personalities are somewhat different, as Stitch is far more mischievous than Toothless. This is not a coincidence; Chris Sanders, Stitch's designer, was the designer for both characters and co-directed both films.
  • Chris Sanders left Disney to join DreamWorks (Disney's rival company) in 2007 due to creative differences over Disney rejecting his original Bolt script and designs. Despite his departure, though, Sanders still continues to voice Stitch in the video games like Kingdom Hearts II, Birth by Sleep, Disney INFINITY: 2.0, and every other opportunity he gets.
  • In Big Hero 6, Stitch is referenced twice: the first as a costume worn by Mochi in a painting, and the second as one of the pillows on Fred's bed.
