Ly the Fairy is a supporting character in the Rayman series. She first appears as a major character in Rayman 2: The Great Escape and gives Rayman advice and abilities to use on his adventures.

Biography

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

When Rayman loses his powers and is imprisoned by the Robo-Pirates invading the Glade of Dreams, Ly gives Globox a Silver Lum which he smuggles to Rayman so it can restore some of his lost powers to escape. In the meantime, Ly is held prisoner within one of the pirates' strongholds until Rayman finds her and destroys the generator holding her there. Ly tells Rayman that she cannot fully restore his powers but gives him what energy she has gathered and informs him about the sleeping deity Polokus who should be able to stop the Robo-Pirates' invasion. She keeps Rayman updated on the state of the Glade, as well as giving him new abilities to use, and puts him through a number of racing trials to make him stronger. After the final battle with Admiral Razorbeard, Ly was seen among those mourning for Rayman when it was thought he had perished in an explosion. However Rayman suddenly reappeared before his friends alive and well, causing them to celebrate.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc

Although Ly does not make a physical appearance, a statue of her can be found hidden in The Longest Shortcut.

Spin Offs

Rayman Arena/Rayman M

Ly appears in promotional artwork for the game and has a level themed around her called Ly's Palace where a statue of her can be found. Despite this, she does not physically appear in the game at all.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (GBA)

Ly appears throughout the game to help Rayman find his friend Globox by giving him new powers to use on his quest.

Rayman Raving Rabbids (GBA)

Ly assists Rayman by giving him medallions he can use to change his appearance and use new abilities against the Rabbids invading the Glade of Dreams. She also reveals that Rabbids were once innocent, peaceful creatures until bullying drove them insane.
