Biography[]
Background[]
In 1992, Los Santos policeman Jimmy Hernandez became a member of it's corrupt division called C.R.A.S.H. and collaborated with its leader Frank Tenpenny and his right-hand man Edmund Pulaski in their nefarious activities. In their first meeting, Tenpenny and Pulaski often insulted and demeaned Hernandez because they did not like him much nor did they trust him too much; Hernandez was going to be an honest and law-abiding policeman, but he was forced by Tenpenny and Pulaski to kill their renegade defector Ralph Pendelbury after the latter had been beaten up by them.
Personality[]
Jimmy is probably the least malevolent of the trio. The only adverse action he has taken against Carl is to call him early in the game, warning him not to leave Los Santos, and even then Carl dismisses him as Tenpenny's "bitch". By the time the mission "High Noon" rolls around, Tenpenny discovers that Hernandez was ratting him out to the feds and is now at risk of being caught. Hernandez was spilling information to the feds for quite a while and if it wasn't for him, Tenpenny's downfall could not have happened. Jimmy turns against his superiors and takes a bullet for CJ, thus saving his life.
Trivia[]
- Hernandez only speaks in The Introduction and a phone call to CJ where he warns Carl not to leave Los Santos.
