Quroq is a minor protagonist from Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East. He was an orc warchief, perhaps the second greatest freedom fighter of the orcs after Kunyak.

Biography[]

Quroq was an orc chieftain who was enraged by the fact that the orcs were the slaves to the Griffin Empire and how they were being treated. One day, Kujin, the tribe's shaman, gave them a prophecy about a half-human, half-demon person who could decide the fate of the world. Quroq thought he was this certain person and thought he could rule the world and give the orcs all the power, so he started recruiting a large army. Kujin opposed this, but Gotai, the leader's adopted son, believed that this was the right way and they should follow him. His first target was Raven Dutchy. Quroq set out with his large horde and immediately attacked a small village inhabited by peasants who had centaur slaves. The slaves were freed and the peasants were killed one by one. The horde then marched on as they battled smaller forces from the Griffin Empire and the Red Church. However, Quroq win many battles because the orcs outnumbered their opponents and that he was a good strategist. They captured several mines where there were goblin slaves, freed orc warriors and slayers from the prison, and even cyclopes joined them. The massive horde then besieged the city of Voron peak, which they successfully captured. The orcs and their allies staged a great massacre, killing almost everyone, burning and destroying the city. After that, Quroq was certain that the shaman's prediction would indeed be fulfilled, that he was the chosen one of whom she spoke, he conquer all the nations of Asha and the orcs would become the rulers of the world. Kujin was worried, but Gotai was happy about his father's glory and believed that this was the future of the orcs. Meanwhile, the second most important man in the Red Church, Archbishop Alaric, set out with a large army to deal with the orcs. Gotai and Kujin did not go with the warchief, who advanced with more creatures, bu the horde was attacked by Alaric and the red soldiers. Many died in the battle, but the orcs were defeated, and Quroq was mortally wounded. However, with the last of his strength, he spoke of his pride in Gotai, that he was his worthy heir, and that he would avenge him by killing Alaric. Then he breathed his last and died. Alaric cut off his head and took it to the queen, although the orc leader could not conquer the world, his last wish was fulfilled, because Gotai became the new khan of the tribe and later killed Alaric.

Personality[]

Quroq was a bloodthirsty, angry, wrathful and proud orc warrior. He hated to see other orcs or their friends enslaved and showed no mercy to the enemy. He believed that the orcs were superior to the other nations in Ashan and had a great future. His main goal in life was constant conquest and fighting. However, he halso had some good qualities. He respected and loved his adopted son, Gotai, and really wanted to give his people everything for a better life and future.
