Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King[]

Fairy Princess Willow

Princess Willow first appears when traveling around the Halloween carnival in the human world. She first encounters the magician Krudsky, who is frustrated at the utter embarrassment that he has faced from Shaggy and Scooby. For fun she decided to play tricks on him by using her magic, which embarrassed him even more and he tries to catch who ever is behind this. He finds out what he assumes is a fly and used a fly catcher to swat her until he finds out its a fairy. From reading his book, he cast a spell to take her powers and plans to become the most powerful being in the realm.

Later on, Willow flees when Krudsky turned his back and went to find Mr. Gibbles. She warns him at what happen to her and hides in a grandfather clock when she notice Krudsky nearby. Krudsky rudely enters Mr. Gibbles home and found Willow in her hiding spot, from here she criticize mortals like Krudsky for seeking power and never satisfy with what they have. Krudsky laughs at her face and snatch her back to his lair while turning Mr. Gibbles into a rabbit. By using a magic mirror, Krudsky makes a deal with the Goblin King by bargaining Princess Willow for the kings staff. Since Willow is his daughter, he accepts the deal regrettably. Krudsky then traps Willow in a magical field and keeps her in his hat until midnight.

Krudsky and the Goblin King meet at the clock tower and tries to give Willow to him. Until a random net snatches the king trapping him and loosing his staff to Krudsky. With this Krudsky forsakes the deal and takes the Goblin staff proclaiming himself as the knew Goblin King. While this is happening Fred, Daphne, and Velma rescues Willow and plans to escape but sadly they were turn into monsters when Krudsky notice them. After the fight for the staff and Krudsky loosing his power, Willow is free from the magical field. With her father return to power, he grounds her for one year due to the mischief that she has caused in all of this but admits that he is happy to have her back. She forgives him and he sends all magical creatures back to their world. Willow wishes everyone goodbye and returns back home.

Appearance[]

Willow wears a pretty skimpy outfit even for a fairy. She wears a bra with her shoulders and midriff expose and a skirt with a belt around it and brown high-knee boots. She also wears bracers and yellow armbands. She has blond hair and light green eyes and pink lipstick on her face. Like most fairies, she has pointy ears and glittering wings.

Personality[]

Willow is very mischievous, like when she plays tricks on Krudsky with her powers. Despite that, she is very sweet and does not want harm to come to others since she is just a playful trickster. Through her behavior, it can be assume that she only does this when she's bored. In addition, it is implied that Willow does show some concern for her father's kingdom. She is also kind, since she blessed Shaggy and Scooby with powers of the fairies and genuinely loves her father.

Trivia[]

  • Hayden Panettiere also played Channing Walsh in Racing Stripes, Claire Bennett in the Heroes series, and voiced Dot in A Bug's Life, Suri in Dinosaur, Kairi from the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Kate in Alpha and Omega, and Red Puckett in Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil.
  • Since her father is a goblin and her mother is a fairy that would make Willow a half-breed of the two races. Besides that she could be just an adopted daughter of the Goblin King since her mother is never mention in the movie. Though it could be that her mother died when she was a child and her father raised her himself to honor her memory.
    • Her relationship with her father is not well explain as well, which leaves much of their background a mystery.
  • Despite being one of the leading characters of the film, Willow is more of a plot device between Krudsky, who hungers for power and The Goblin King, who wants his daughter back. Her screen time in the film is also limited.
