Elvis Cridlington is one of the main protagonists from the children's television show Fireman Sam, he is one of the firefighters in the Pontypandy Fire Station.
In the first four seasons, Elvis is voiced by John Alderton, who also voices all the other characters and provides the narration. In season 5, Elvis is voiced by John Sparkes, who also voices Fireman Sam, Station Officer Steele, Norman Price, Dilys Price, Mike Flood, Trevor Evans, Tom Thomas and Dusty (although he does not speak), as well as The Farmer and Bitzer in Shaun the Sheep and the narrator along with a few other characters in Peppa Pig. Since season 6, Elvis is voiced by Steven Kynman, who also voices Fireman Sam, Norman Price, James Jones (seasons 6-7), Derek Price, Charlie Jones, Jerry Lee Cridlington and Lambykins, as well as Duck the Great Western Engine in Thomas & Friends and Lofty in Bob the Builder (2015).
Personality and background[]
Elvis Cridlington used to dream of being a firefighter when he was younger, he soon began firefighter training when he finished high school and began firefighter training at the Newtown Fire Academy. He soon returned to Pontypandy after he completed his training and started working at the Pontypandy Fire Station.
Elvis is often shown to be somewhat dimwitted, but also a very friendly person, he can sometimes be shown to not pay attention that much and sometimes lacks awareness of fire hazards, as shown in "A Real Live Wire", where he tries to put out an electrical fire with a bucket of water before Sam stops him and tells him that it is not a good idea to do that.
In Season 6, he received a notable personality change with him becoming alot more incompetent than he was before, his incompetence leads to him making much more mistakes than he originally did, such as feeding Radar the fire station dog chocolate, mistaking it for doggy treats in "Fox on the Run".
Elvis also has a strong love for music and for playing the guitar, and is shown that he also wanted to be rockstar when he was younger too, a hint of this is shown in the episode "Wishing Well", where Elvis throws a coin in the well and yells out that he wished that he was a rockstar.
He is shown to be friends with nearly everyone in Pontypandy and his relationship with Sam evolved into a good relationship, during Seasons 3-4, he had a crush on Penny Morris which would soon evolve into a more romantic one, but since Season 5, they go back to just be friends.
