Danielle "Dani" Phantom is a supporting character of Danny Phantom. She is a female clone of Danny Phantom, who was created accidentally by his archenemy Vlad Plasmius while he was trying to clone Danny Phantom. It was confirmed by series director Butch Hartman that in the 10 years following the series finale Dani was adopted by the Fenton family, making her Danny and Jazz’s sister.
She is voiced by (renowned child now-teen) actress AnnaSophia Robb (Because of Winn-Dixie, Soul Surfer, Race to Witch Mountain, The Reaping, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Bridge to Terabithia) in her first appearance, and later by Krista Swan.
History[]
Dani Phantom, also known as Danielle Phantom, is one of the imperfect clones of Danny Phantom, created by Vlad as a stepping stone to the perfect Danny clone and the only clone with a mind. Dani is also called Danny's cousin. Only one step behind him, Danielle is slowly dissolving, but retains free will. She first works with Vlad until Danny convinces Danielle that she is nothing but a tool to Vlad. With that knowledge intact, she sides with Danny. She shares many of the same traits and interests as Danny, who serves as something of an older brother to her. In another episode, Danny and Valerie come to help her when she was captured by Vlad. She becomes stabilized by an invention Danny uses and after saying goodbye to them, flies off to parts unknown. The last time she is seen in the series is as part of the crowd of ghosts in "Phantom Planet".
Appearance[]
As Danny's clone, Danielle shares some similarities with Danny. In her human form, like Danny, she bears a strong resemblance to her genetic mother, Maddie Fenton. She has the same skin color, eye color and hair color as Danny. She has the same hairstyle as him, with the back longer and in a ponytail.
In ghost form, Dani's skin, hair, and costume are of the same color scheme as Danny's. But despite Danny's her colors are going form black to white horizontally and her midriff is exposed.
Personality[]
Danielle shares many of Danny's likes and personality traits. Unlike the other failed experiments, she is actually sentient and doesn't mind voicing exactly how she feels. A very willful and somewhat tomboyish girl, she's a lot like Danny, only more cheerful and mischievous. She seems to have no respect for authority, and can be quite stubborn at times. She can also be quite naïve, which is, in part, due to her limited existence so far.
Trivia[]
- In her human form, Dani has the same hat as Chip Skylark from The Fairly OddParents, another Nickelodeon TV show by Butch Hartman.
- Butch Hartman stated in a video that if the show had a fourth season, Danny's parents would have adopted Dani as their daughter making her Danny and Jazz's younger sister.
