There was nothing personal in this, even though you almost sank our plans. But it turned out well. You were in the wrong place at the right time, and someone has to take the fall.
~ Hiram Burrows explaining why he framed Corvo Attano for the murder of the Empress.
I'm the guy that got detention for a whole year for the biggest prank in high school history. Only catch? I didn't do it!
~ Lee Ping explaining his situation to the viewer.

Heroes who are blamed/framed for crimes or terrible actions they did not commit, breaking rules for selfish reasons, in which case, the hero usually did it for good reasons such as the order(s) they was given were/are of bad or questionable judgement, or generally causing more harm than good, usually by a villain or another hero. This can be a common motivation for a Seeker of Vengeance.

A good example of this is Tyrion Lannister who was falsely accused of committing regicide by poisoning his nephew, Joffrey's wine and later killed Shae who testified against him, then his father out of vengeance.

Another good example is the Armed Detective Agency, a Lawful Good organization that was falsely accused of terrorism and murder by the government while the Decay of the Angel are the one responsible for framing them.
