And one day, a lawman appeared with powers of Hawk, Wolf, Puma and Bear. Protector of peace, Mystic man from afar, Champion of Justice: Marshal BraveStarr.
~ BraveStarr described in the intro

Marshal BraveStarr is the main protagonist in the space western series BraveStarr and its pilot film. He is the Native American space-western Marshal who is the law enforcer of the planet New Texas.

He was voiced by Pat Fraley, who also voiced Ace and Barbecue in G.I. Joe, Casey Jones in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, and Denver the Last Dinosaur.

Biography[]

Marshal Bravestarr is a American Indian law-man on the planet "New Texas" in the twenty second century. He works for the inter-planetary government that colonized New Texas and spends much of his time keeping this mineral from his enemy, Tex Hex, and other less than reputable opportunists. As a lawman of New Texas, Bravestarr carries a “Neutra-laser”, but is best known for his Native-American powers. These powers were taught to him by Shaman and draw from "spirit animals."

Abilities[]

BraveStarr can call upon the power of "spirit animals", enabling him briefly to perform superhuman feats, these were as follows:

  • Eyes of the Hawk: Enhances his vision and can also grant him an aerial view of the adjacent area.
  • Ears of the Wolf: Gives him super-human hearing.
  • Strength of the Bear: Gives him super-human strength.
  • Speed of the Puma: Gives him super-human speed.

In addition to his animal powers, he has electronic equipment such as a computerized visor and a two-way radio. BraveStarr also carries a "Neutra-Laser" pistol, a "Trans-freezer" rifle, a high-tech hatchet and a beam lasso. The badge on his uniform can also shield him at need.

Personality and Traits[]

BraveStarr has strong morals in abiding by the law and prefers to use more peaceful methods when dealing with problems, so he often consults the Shaman for advice. After every adventure, he or someone else often learns an important lesson which he then reviews to the viewers at the end of every episode.

BraveStarr works with Thirty Thirty an equestroid horse and Prairie resident Deputy Fuzz, though he sometimes has Judge J.B. McBride, Shaman and other residents of New Texas to sometimes help him. The show hints he and J.B. also have romantic feelings for each other.
