Beauty and the Beast[]
A portrayal of Prince Adam and his selfish nature on a stained-glass window.
On a cold winter night, Prince Adam is visited by an old beggar woman who offers a rose in return for shelter.
Repulsed by the old woman's ugly appearance, Prince Adam sneered at the rose and turned the woman away.
When the old woman reveals herself to be a beautiful enchantress, Prince Adam drops to his knees and begs for forgiveness.
Prince Adam's pleas are ignored as the enchantress punishes him for his cruel, selfish nature.
Prince Adam's hands as he is cursed by the enchantress.

Ashamed of his monstrous appearance and actions, the Beast conceals himself inside his castle.

Sometime later, Beast meets and finds Belle in his dungeon.

Beast becomes surprised when Belle offers herself to be his prisoner in exchange for her father's freedom.
Beast agreeing to release Maurice on the condition that Belle remains his prisoner forever.

After releasing Maurice, Beast throws him into a palanquin to take him back to his home village without letting him say goodbye to Belle.

However, upon seeing Belle cry, Beast starts to feel guilty over not letting her say goodbye to her father.
"You wanna-You wanna stay in the tower?"
Beast glancing over at a sad Belle as he escorts her to a bedroom, having taken Lumière's suggestion.
Beast being advised by Lumière to say something to Belle.
"I, uh, hope you like it here."
"The castle is your home now, so you can go anywhere you like, except the west wing."
"It's forbidden!"

"You will join me for dinner. That's not a request!"
An impatient Beast waiting for Belle to arrive and have dinner with him.

Upon hearing Belle refusing to eat dinner, Beast angrily confronts her outside her bedroom door.
"But she's being so difficult!"

"It would give me great pleasure...if you would join me for dinner. Please?"
"Then go ahead and STAAAAAAARVE!!!"
After Belle refuses to have dinner with him, Beast orders his servants not to serve Belle any food if she gets hungry.

Using a magic mirror the Enchantress gave him, Beast uses it to spy on Belle, hearing her negative comments on him.
"I'm just fooling myself."
"She'll never see me as anything but a monster."
"It's hopeless".
Later, Beast discovers Belle in the West Wing.
Beast stopping Belle from touching the Enchanted Rose.
Beast enraged that Belle broke her promise to stay out of his room in the West Wing.
"Do you realize what you could have done?!".

After Belle frightfully runs away, Beast facepalms as he realizes his mistake in scaring Belle.
