Baldroy, (spelled as Bardroy) is one of the supporting characters of Black Butler series.

He is voiced by Hiroki Tōchi in the Japanese version and Ian Sinclair in the English Version.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

He rarely produces anything edible as he uses weaponry such as flamethrowers to cook, believing that cooking is an art requiring explosions. Sebastian believes anything he creates is made up of charcoal and carcinogens. Baldroy pursues cooking to learn how to slow down, as he states cooking takes patience to master, which was something he was not used to during his years in the military.

While terrible at cooking, he is shown to be capable of taking advantage of his surroundings, such as using fine flour to create an explosion. Due to his experience as a soldier, he takes command over the servants when Ciel and Sebastian are away from the manor.

History[]

Baldroy was once a farmer who married a beautiful voluptuous woman; having a son together. A few years passed and a raiders party attacked the town, resulting in the death of his family.

When he was a soldier, his entire platoon was wiped out, leaving him as the only survivor. Sebastian discovered Baldroy on the battlefield after his comrades had fallen and offered him employment.

Trivia[]

  • Like Finnian and Mey-Rin, he provides much of the comic relief in the series.
  • While he absolutely sucks as a chef (forcing Sebastion to always cook for Ciel and guests), Baldroy is a master soldier and tactician; skillfully leading Mey-Rin and Funny into battle.
  • His Japanese Voice Actor, Hiroki Tōchi, also voiced Gin in Ginga Densetsu Weed, Seishirō in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Abel Nightroad in Trinity Blood, Panther Lily in Fairy Tail, and Chris Redfield in Resident Evil.
  • His English Voice Actor, Ian Sinclair, also voiced Brook in One Piece, Mezo Shoji in My Hero Academia, Yu Kanda in D.Gray Man, South Italy in Hetalia, Ginei Morioka in Rosario + Vampire, Daikoku in Noragami, Otohiko in Kamisama Kiss series, Akane☆Hoshi in Soul Eater NOT!, Kazuichi Banjou in Tokyo Ghoul series, Juzo Sakakura in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School series, Lawless in Servamp, Whis in Dragon Ball Super, Lawless in Servamp, Mitsuhide Lowen in Snow White with the Red Hair, Magma Swing in Black Clover, and Dandy in Space Dandy.
